President Barack Obama, hoping to calm those who oppose the deal because they don’t trust Iran to hold up its end, has said the U.S. would maintain the ability to snap sanctions back into place if Iran cheats.

Those who oppose the deal (any deal) are simply intent on bringing Iran down and are constantly pressuring Obama to insist on conditions that Iran can't accept.

Anything beyond that, he said, would be unfair.

Well you claimed that you were following the rules only to find you built a complete facility underground that you failed to disclose.

On the other hand it's difficult to tell a country that people will be allowed access to any military site at any time. I can't say I really know what the answer is. If a deal can't be worked out then we let the sanctions run their course.

Well you claimed that you were following the rules only to find you built a complete facility underground that you failed to disclose.

They were not required to disclose it prior to building it. They were required to disclose it a certain time prior to having up and running with nuclear material. They did that. Despite western accusations, Iran did not break any rules. They are not the ones acting in bad faith.

Anyway, there is no evidence that Iran has diverted any nuclear material to make weapons. The sanctions should never have been imposed, and they will likely not be lifted because they have nothing to do with any alleged nuclear weapons program.

Garbage. Iran has built their peaceful nuclear program in a very specific way that can be militarized on a moments notice.

Negotiators have given themselves until at least July 7 to reach agreement.

That would be July 7, 2033.

Iran knows that Obama is desperate for a deal. The more Iran resists the more Obama gives in to their demands. Iran will string the negotiations out as long as Obama will let them.

Thanks for the word from inside the bubble, Wolf. It's nice to know that everything comes down to you knowing what Obama is thinking, and most likely comes down to what you think of him personally.

It's nice to know that everything comes down to you knowing what Obama is thinking, and most likely comes down to what you think of him personally.

It all comes down to Obama repeatedly making deadlines then extending them only to cave-in on one firmly stated non-negotiable issue after another to the number one state sponsor of terror in the world. Perhaps it will just require a few more days of Kerry being serenaded by Iran's "Death to America" song for Obama to wrap-up Iran's nuke with a bow.

Perhaps if the GOP chanted 'death to progressivism' he might actually negotiate something (anything) with his domestic opposition.

Wolfie

You don't quite understand how to negotiate from a position of power. Obama does.

You don't quite understand how to negotiate from a position of power.

If the republicans understood that, the Iraq war would never have happened.

Very few Republicans (and independent conservatives) Ive met are able to talk specifics about the Iran deal. Most if not all of their talking points are mindless repitition of things they hear from right-wing news services. That's why you get a lot of "Obama only cares about his legacy" and "Obama is giving Iran nukes" and other drive-by comments. It gives them a position and doesn't require them to know a single thing about the actual deal.

Obama will get his deal, Kerry will get his Nobel Peace Prize, and Iran will get their nuke. All three winners!!!

Deal or no deal Iran make a nuke if they want. Why don't people grasp this simple premise?
