He certainly hasn't been very friendly to his Iranian compatriots!

the onus should be on the United States and other major nuclear powers to give up their weapons

Good advice.

Funny how Ahmadinejad's tone changes when he's on "enemy" territory, after presiding last week's "Al-Quds (Jerusalem) Day" with demonstrations antagonizing America. Maybe he should talk down his people first before urging friendship.

Does this guy have any friends left?

"Iran is not building nuclear weapons"

Of course not.

It would be constructive to be friends with the Iranians. But I don't see that as likely as long as they have thugs as leaders.

If Iran would take a softer line maybe we could see Iran as a potential friend.

There's nothing wrong with saying the potential for friendship exists; of course it does. But of course simply saying it is quite different than moving in a positive direction and towards friendship, and Iran's got a LONG way to go. Of course, it's a two-way street, but still.

Regardless of what you think about President ArmorDinnerJacket,

(Doesn't it make you want to hear what Ahmadinejad has to say, just to find out what the US and Canadian officials are so terrified of?) Set aside all the crap about "wipe Israel off of the map" and "Deny the Holocaust".

What certain folks are REALLY afraid Ahmadinajad will do is ...

Remind everyone that the US funded the attempted coup in Iran.

Remind everyone that the IAEA has never found any evidence of nuclear weapons development at Iran's power station.

Remind everyone that Iran a signer to the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty which grants Iran a right to peaceful nuclear power.

Remind everyone that Iran allows full inspections of their nuclear facilities.

Remind everyone that Israel is NOT a signer to the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty.

Remind everyone that Israel does NOT allow inspections of their nuclear facilities, despite a recent United Nations request that they do so.

Remind everyone that the United nations has accused Israel of war crimes in Gaza.

Here is a pop quiz.

A. Iran

B. Israel

C. United States

Which of the above three did NOT lie to the world about Saddam's "nookular" bombs?

Hint: That's the one to T R U S T!

I could befriend an honest kinda guy like Iran, regardless of his religious leanings. Why not the US of A?

A military attack against Iran will unite the Iranian people to support Ahmedinejad and their government, no matter what they think of him. This is a very logical approach. And because it is logical, it is an approach which the US will avoid completely.

Iran must give up its' oil and become a slave to the Federal Reserve like everyone else (minus Cuba, Venezuela etc) or you can expect war like in Iraq and Afghanistan. Obama's saber-rattling must continue until Iran is a true slave to banker's debt.

All of Iran's nuclear facilities need to be leveled. Hopefully Israel will do the world a favor again, like they did in 1981 when they took out Iraq's nuclear reactor. Islamic nations must NEVER be allowed to possess nuclear technology. Look at what's happening in Pakistan, with Islamic extremists attempting to overthrow the government and take control of the nukes. That's why US forces have been increased in Afghanistan, in order to prevent this scenario from happening. Anyway, it's no surprise Iran has become the darling of neo-Nazis, Islamists, and Socialists.

And here's a little questionnaire for LIBERTAS:
