Death penalty should be banned. It is barbaric and biblical.

Death penalty should be banned. It is barbaric and biblical." What a twist coming from you.

I don’t care about the death sentence one way or the other, but in this case I want a real life sentence in a very small cell. I want him to spend every day remembering why he is there. Death is too quick.

This guy is a poster boy for what is wrong with US military today. He never, never should have been enlisted and given a gun. He was a criminal and a psych problem to boot before the Army recruiters ran him through basic training.

I honestly don't see how people can legitimately claim that the death penalty is barbaric. What would be barbaric is letting this man live out his natural life in a prison, while his victims rot away in their graves. Now that is something I found find to be cruel. Particularly in a case as heinous as this one. The man murdered her entire family, then raped and murdered her. He should get the noose.

You know, in the Army they used to shoot men for cowardace... a charge I have considerably more sympathy for than this atrocity.

The war started so that this crimwe could be committed is the real crime here. Everything else is just a bi-product. The real convict should be gb. < :-)

These guys should be given a re-trial.....in Iraq. If not, I want them to live a long life in prison. A long, miserable life that is.

I have no shortage of outrage for these scumbuckets. And I hope to see oodles and oodles of outrage to come in this thread and no pathetic attempts to muddle the issue just because they were American soldiers. Unfortunately, I think there would be more outrage if the 14 year old had sex with one guy, was unharmed, and not the least upset, instead of brutally gang raped, murdered and her corpse burned. Bizarre, but seems to be true.

an image of 6-year-old Hadeel al-Janabi, which showed her hair band had been blown off.

Hair band??? Blown off??? Whatever is this supposed to mean???

I think this man should get the death penalty due to the brutality of the crime. But at the same time we need proof beyond a reasonable doubt that this occured.

Sorry, but I see the death penalty as anything but barbaric. Justice is about balancing the scales with just consequences for the crime. But considering this also happened in another country its hard to prove who is lying and who is telling the truth. False witnesses can easily take anyone to town if they set things up the way they want. Especially during war time.

4 bodies is pretty damn good proof. The other peoples testimony, those already convicted, who admit what they did, again, pretty damn good proof.

A good punishment for rogue soldiers, especially this one is to trade his ass to AQ the next time they take a hostage. They can do what they want with him, even video tape it and put it on Youtube. The minute this guy quits breathing the same air as the rest of the human population, is not a minute too son.
