So, proud Americans, how many of your compatriots have died horrible deaths and face even worse lives crippled and maimed after fighting a foe which is now to form part of the national army their blood was spend destroying, and has now been reinstated with pride. Talk about al-Maliki being in your face!

When, Oh when, will you rebel against the criminals running your country, into the desert sands?

Libertas: This might come as a shock, but I think the U.S. supports this decision.

Too bad the U.S. just did not support the idea to just leave them where they were in the first place.

There is no avoiding this, I know. They will be serving in the military one way or another. But if it leads to Iraq becoming military controlled again I will have one more thing to say "I told you so!" about.

I thought that this was supposed to have happened some 2 or 3 years ago. It took all that time to make this happen? Sounds like the US Congress. < :-)

Can't disagree with the both of you. Not to defend the previous administration or military commanders; They did make the wrong decision initially, but by the time they realized their mistake the Iraqis in power wouldn't have any of it. Now that's changed.

by admitting the former Baath Party army officers back to the fold, Iraq may just avoid the " civil war " after The US leave the country

We'll only know the consequences of this "vote-buying" after March 7.

This might come as a shock, but I think the U.S. supports this decision.

Too bad it all had to happen at all. The "US" might like it, but individual American families would give anything to have their loved ones back alive, or all in one piece. I'm really talking about the futility of this, and the other two, useless and senseless wars.
