Now is the perfect time for Obama to come up with some kind, any kind, of a ME strategy. Do we want to be serious players or not? Personally, I see this as a fine opportunity to get out. Admit the second invasion of Iraq was a huge mistake, pack our tents and go home. Use some of the billions we sink into this pit for humanitarian aide. If we don't do something decisive, and do it now,we will be bogged down in this crap forever. Putin can play in the sandbox for the next decade. Let the locals slug it out. The last Muslim standing can use that as evidence that Allah was surely on his side.

Now that's a slap in the face to the Obama administration. And agree with Joe, pack it up and go home. The time when they were thankful for involvement is long past, let them live with the regrets.
The myth USA benefitted from the oil will only strengthen Russia in price fixing and likely still allow China to benefit from the oil.

Obama and Kerry are out of the loop. Putin is calling any future US involvement in syria illegal. What antics will administration come up with next?

I just cant understand why the people of America could allow Mr Obama rampage the ME people through his Arab Spring campaign and the use of ISIS to pursuit political and stragetical goals. Now even Iraq, a brokened state dont gives a trust. The ISIS murdered Americans live in TV, your 'cmdr in chief' dont cares, what he cares is Assad must GO, now or sooner. Sick joke indeed, well yes the Saudis,Qatar says all and until forever. Good luck!

It's not like they're not sharing info already. Iraq is definitely sharing it with Iran, what with Iran militias already in Iraq. And Iran is definitely sharing it with their ally Syria who's also fighting ISIS, and likely Russia too. This just makes it more direct.
Likely referring to Dagestan, Chechnya, etc. Hey, if they wanna put boots on the ground

Syria/Iraq is a proxy war between Iran (Shia) and the Gulf states (Sunni). The West should not have a stake in this, except supporting the side which is relatively secular and protects minorities like Christians and Yazidis. And that would be the Assad`s Baathis regime here. Absurdly, Obama is siding with the Wahabi Gulf monarchies and supports the ISIS headcutters, by sanctioning Assad and arming the so-called "vetted rebels", aka ISIS in drag. It disheartening to watch such stupidity.
lostrune2
Huh? Iraq is still sharing info with the US. Iraq is just adding Syria and Russia to the list. Russia can't do anything in Iraq - Iraq remains an US problem.

Naw, BB has a point. The russians are projecting their influence in the region cause they know Obama doesn't know how to react. Obama's 8 yrs. are almost done, his plate is full. How will he approach a determined Putin??
Now the iranians and russians will collaborate with iraqis. Wow, what if china offered a squadron and or logistical support?
Obama cannot flex any US Naval muscle in the Black Sea neither. The russians will use their radar jamming system to render those vessels useless.
And the administration's air campaign has been a joke whether launched from nearby Turkey or carrier @ sea.

Wc626;
This is getting obfuscated. There "iranians and russians" will not collaborate "with iraqis", but rather with the Shiite Bagdad government. The Iraqi Sunnis in Western Iraq are largely supportive of ISIS, which is why ISIS can hold that part of Iraq. We Westerners should stop trying to see the region in terms of nation states, that will always lead to false conclusions. This is an sectarian area with sectarian politics.

Replacing Saddam was a good idea they said....

And there's no better way to do that than to arm radical Islamists, the beacon of peace, democracy, and freedom for all.
