It's too bad we removed a strong, secular dictator in Syria. He would be a kind of savior now.

"A press statement issued by the U.N. Security Council on Friday also condemned increased terrorist attacks resulting in numerous casualties and destruction carried out by the Islamic State group, al-Qaida’s Syrian branch called the Nusra Front and other militant groups."

I think a U.N. force led by the Chinese People's Liberation Army should wipe out these terrorists.

Assad is not "removed" yet. Or may be you mean Saddam in Iraq? Anyway, it seems you learned the lesson of the Iraq fiasco. What a pity that guys in Washington didn't. They still refuse to admit that Assad is a natural ally.

Cursed be the weapons in IS's hands.

Burning Bush: Assad could have easily crushed ISIS and Al Qaida by now if the US hadn't armed ISIS and Al Qaida to the teeth with sophisticated weaponry like shoulder fired anti-tank weapons and scramble proof radios.

Dang. Who knew we could take over Syria so easily? The could be some of the CIA's best work.

Asakaze: They still refuse to admit that Assad is a natural ally.

No, Assad is not an ally of the US. He never was and he never will be. I don't see why you guys come here every day and demand that the US support Assad. He created this mess, he can deal with it himself. Assad is a lot closer to Russia anyway, so you can help him.

Make the argument that Saddam should have been left in power, and people claim 'but he was a dictator'. Make the claim that we shouldn't support Assad because he's a dictator, people say 'but we need him to beat ISIS'. The biggest thing this all says is that there are no friends or enemies in the middle east, there are just a bunch of people fighting each other the only way they know how, and the rest of us should stand off to the side and let them fight it out.

This is time of reckoning. We plough into Iraq over vague ideas that Saddam holds weapons of mass destruction & training grounds for Al Qaida. We destroyed homes, livelihoods, infrastructures, businesses, economies, families, and their national economy. And we tell the world that we achieved mission accomplish against terrorism. Young Servicemen and women were sacraficed by President Bush and his supporters to invade, fight, and become casualties, while we tax payers just deal with the paycheck. Now ten years later, our economy is still in a mess from the trillions of dollars we have spent. We complain and treat the local Iraqi government and their soldiers like their incompetent, lazy, and "lack the will to fight", while we blindly ignore the fact that we destroyed their homes, caused internal warfare between diverse ethnic and religious groups, and through their jobs out the window. We now are broke and we ourselves "lack the will" to complete our committment to Iraq. The whole world is watching and understands that now we are liars when we say are a global force for peace and a global force to combat terrorism and help nations combat terrorism.

And now we are trying to focus more attention on China instead of dealing with this problem. We are promoting the vague idea that China is a force that threatens global peace, as well as promoting that they are behind all the most crucial cyber attacks. What a world we live in. ISIL wil continue to advance and march and destroy while we're busy focusing on the next country to fight. There will be a reckoning. We have sinned for the needless deaths of innocent people, and we as a country will receive punishment for our actions.

Battle Of Five Armies! Er, Three!

UN forces is for peacekeeping and not warkeeping

As for Syrian democracy , democracy is illegal practice in islam

so Saudi arabia cares about the pipeline for certain political purposes , ISIL has secured most of it ,

If the arab ( I labelled who is going to move there didn't go ) the pipeline will be destroyed

So who want to impose something not of their culture is wrong , as i said you can feed them , and give them a home but something can't be learned except by experience of war and being a part of it , none of their beloved belligerent has really experienced that , it is their turn don't help them in their exam

By the way , i heard that assad since the beginning of the revolution wore a nuke belt given from saddam who smuggled nukes from iraq to syria . the satellite was showing that, since 16/5/2012 he wore that nuke suit belt

If you think that the gulf will be celebrating the democracy, you are misguided they need many wars to understand that

4 days to go

SuperLib@

I do not "come here and demand" anything. I just try to be rational and logical. Sure Mr.Assad is not a friend of the US, but at least he is not a direct danger to the US interests, contrary to ISIL. Why not to support him, or at least stop trying to topple him? US toppled Qaddafi, so what, did the situation in Libya improve since then? Isn't the Benghazi incident the sufficient wake-up call to bring you to some senses?

Russia demonstates much more logic in its foreign policy. Present day Iraq is a lot more closer to the US then to Moscow, regardless, Russia actively helps Iraq because it considers ISIL a real threat. It's a pity that logic and common sense is not present in the US policy. Fighting ISIL in Iraq and helping basically the same bunch in Syria - well, that's some accomplishment in stupidity.
