Messed up. Not even a handshake, nor a high chair.

For this a formal apology from a head of state was necessary?

HelterSkelter:
Yep, the islamist government of Turkey insists on it. Israeli and Western politicians still think that Turkey is an ally of the West -- like sleepwalkers, they have completely missed that the AKP is now firmly in the islamist camp with Iran and Syria.

Helter Skelter, OMG, don`t you understand, you cannot be so terrible to other nations diplomats. Israel ha slow respect for other nations and their views, they are reknown for being terribly beastly.

Would be interesting to consider what would happen if the boot was on the other foot. For example, how would Israel react if its ambassador was called in for a ear-bashing? Anyone for claims of antisemitism? Furthermore, I think that comments linking Turkey to more radical regimes are a bit out of line.

If Turkey had treated an Israeli ambassador in this manner, Israel would crying to high heaven. < :-)

Very true. It's a delusion to believe Islamic nations are allies of the West. I don't know why Israel even bothers having a Turkish embassy. These worthless Islamic nations have nothing to offer Israel.
There have been attempted assassinations of Israeli ambassadors in Islamic nations. So I doubt they'd cry over a missed handshake.

Not surprised you can't see the forest for the trees: you see, my friend, he had to formally apologize for the INTENTIONAL (and those are ISRAEL'S words!) insult. Does that make a wee bit more sense for you?
The only thing is, they were probably not sincere about it in the least.

Agreed, but some people are on such a bitter and twisted mission to rant at every opertune moment about how much they hate Islam......

[The only thing is, they were probably not sincere about it in the least.] --- I think I can agree with this. I bet the Israelis really couldn't give a hoot whose feelings were hurt because they certainly wouldn't be getting an apology from any nation in that part of the world.
