Netanyahu, meanwhile, fired Deputy Defense Minister Danny Danon, one of his fiercest critics who didn’t tone down his rhetoric during the offensive. Netanyahu said that by attacking the government at a time of war, Danon played into the hands of Hamas.

The old good cop, bad cop routine: hawkish Danon criticizes Bibi for his "restraint," and gets fired. You're fooling no-one, Bibi.

Strange article. Israel is not contining to bomb Hamas because of "no truce", but because since yesterday, another dozen Hamas rockets have been fired on Israel, including one on Jerusalem, which killed a person. But strangely, Israeli victims are never mentioned by the press.

Not Jerusalem, but northern Gaza. It appears not all civilians heeded IDF advice to evacuate the area:

A fragment from a mortar shell killed an Israeli man, Dror Chanin, 37, of Beit Ariyeh at the Erez crossing to the northern Gaza Strip in the evening. Chanin had come as a civilian volunteer to distribute food to soldiers at Erez. He is the first Israeli to be killed by enemy fire during Operation Protective Edge.

Palestinians 205 deaths and counting.... Israelis 1 death ......

It is called genocide....

Kuripisu:

No, that is NOT called "genocide". That is called "using civilians as human shields", and "cynical PR effort". Get your definitions right. The population of Gazah is increasing; that is the opposite of "genocide".

"Hamas does not consider Egypt’s current rulers — who deposed a Hamas-friendly government in Cairo a year ago — to be fair brokers."

The Gaza Palestinians should depose Hamas and put an end to this misery.

One of the more ridiculous statements I've heard lately. Do you know what genocide means?

As I remember, initially Fatah won the Gazah election. Hamas then ousted Fatah in a bloody coup, with street battles and assassinations (remember the videos of Hamas thugs throwing Fatah members to their death from rooftops)? The Fatah takever took the lives of 600 Gazah inhabitants (or more, depending on the source). Strangely, nobody here is calling THAT a "genocide".

About 2000 Palestinians have died in the Syrian war. Is that genocide too?

Utter BS. Egypt didn't even contact Hamas with any details of the truce.

Maybe Gaza could, you know, stop firing missiles at an enemy that can hit back with 5x the force and shoot down said missiles anyway?
