The good news is, they're releasing prisoners. The bad news is, they're giving them sniper rifles and maps to her hotel.

Yeah, but she'll be out doing the trendier shoe shops so no need to worry...

Maybe these crims were due to be released anyway, and Israel thinks it looks good to Condi and Abbas.

    Just my thoughts.

Among the people being freed Monday is a militant mastermind who carried out a deadly market bombing three decades ago.

"Mastermind" ? He blew up a bunch of people out shopping.

Where does this idiotic idea come from that Abbas is "moderate"? He wants to destroy Israel just like Hamas, he is just more eloquent about it and wears a business suit. The Jews and Western dhimmis keep on chasing the impossible dream of muslim Arabs accepting the Jewish state. It will never happen.

They try to improve Israel’s image with this release. They throw in this “militant mastermind who carried out a deadly market bombing” to give us the impression that inmates in Israeli prisoners are criminals deserving to be locked up and Israel is being very generous. Luckily, this article does offer some balance by mentioning that there are [over] 9,000 Palestinians in Israeli prisons, unfortunately it doesn’t mention that many of these prisoners are women and children who should never have been in prison.

Three decades ago. I hope the poor militant mass murderer has been apprised of the changes that have occurred back home while he was locked up. If he gives the wrong answer on the wrong street in Hamas-ruled "Palestine" he'll be wishing he was back in an Israeli jail cell.

    Al Sabiwabi:

" it doesn’t mention that many of these prisoners are women and children who should never have been in prison. "

And where did you get the piece of misinformation from? Hamas bulletin? Al-Manar TV? Can you give a source?

Al Sabiwabi, ... Can you give a source?

If you look for it, I'm sure you can find lots of information about it. From ifamericansknew.org I found the following:

As of January 2004, the Palestinian child rights organization Defense for Children International/Palestine Section (DCI/PS) had documented the deaths of over 500 Palestinian children (under 18). These deaths were the result of Israeli occupation policies implemented in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip since September 2000. DCI/PS reports that an estimated 10,000 children were wounded during that period. The majority of these children were killed and injured while going about normal daily activities, such as going to school, playing, shopping, or simply being in their homes. ... In addition to children killed and injured, approximately 2,200 have been arrested. As of January 2004, between 360 and 370 children were being held in detention centers and prisons in the Occupied Territories and Israel. Testimonies gathered from child prisoners, and confirmed by local and international human rights organizations, demonstrate that from the moment of arrest through their incarceration these children are subjected to a systematic pattern of physical and psychological abuse, often amounting to torture. ... Family and attorney visits are regularly obstructed or denied. ...overcrowded, unsanitary facilities and face abuse from prison staff and Israeli inmates. In most facilities, Palestinian children have no access to formal education and the prison administrations fail to provide them with adequate supplies and medical care .

what baffles me then is why Israel is releasing all these murders and keeps the innocents in prison?

and I would rather see some info from other sources than a Palestinian child organization. as I remember these guys do use children for suicidal terrorist attacks

Peace is all we are asking for. I've been rather amazed at the peacefulness that Isreal and Palestine have been showing each other.

Pray that it continues. < :-)

Sabiwabi, if Israel's release of prisoners does nothing to change your opinion and the opinion of other anti-semites, then would you agree that Israel should stop releasing them since there is no benefit?

You're getting 200 prisoners back for free, some of them with blood on their hands, and you still complain. Why don't you just come out and say that it's every Palestinian's right to murder any Israeli they see? It would cut down on posting times at least.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Israel has released terrorist prisoners many times in the past and not only has it not stopped terrorism nor brought about peace, it has resulted in the murder of even more Israelis. The Israelis need to stop trying to appease the Arab Muslims who will hate the Infidel no matter what the Infidel does or doesn't do.

No, Israel should release all prisoners, stop taking more prisoners, and return all stolen land. BTW, Palestinians are Semites.

You're getting 200 prisoners back for free, some of them with blood on their hands, and you still complain.

I'm not getting anything. If you bothered to read my initial post you'd understand that they are making a big thing about this one "mastermind" to give the impression that all the prisoners are murderers deserving to be locked up, which is far from the truth.

    Timeon,

I would rather see some info from other sources than a Palestinian child organization

Although the quote I provided says:

Palestinian child rights organization Defense for Children International / Palestine Section (DCI/PS)

In fact, DCI is not Palestinian:

DCI is an international movement which has membership of both individuals and organisations involved with or supporting its work in over 60 countries on all continents, national sections in 50 countries and subscribers, correspondents and information exchange agreements in many more. It has consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council , with UNICEF, with UNESCO and with the Council of Europe. DCI is an independent non-governmental organisation set up during the International Year of the Child (1979) to ensure on-going, practical , systematic and concerted international action specially directed towards promoting and protecting the rights of the child.

An 18 year old is considered a "child" by the DCI. Nevertheless, Palestinian children are certainly capable of strapping on a suicide belt and murdering innocent Israeli women and children, which tragically has occurred dozens of times. The worst abuse of Palestinian children has been in the hands of the Palestinians as seen in the website below:

A muslim Arab propaganda organization. What a surprise. But thanks for giving us the islamist perspective here.

A predictable response when you have no arguments. Sad.
