Barak said, noting only Israel’s western border—the sea—did not need to be blocked off.

Except is blocked off...by a fence of Israeli Navy ships.

Basically Israel is saying the Palestinians can have Gaza strip, so long as they stay in the yard like good dogs. Gaza strip, the largest open air prison in the world, is about to get more secure.

Gaza strip, the largest open air prison in the world

There are plenty of countries in the world that would like to wall off their Islamic neighbors. Israel is doing it with great success, as evidenced by the dramatic decrease in the number terrorist suicide bombings. Other countires should take note.

I can't much disagee with this fence. I want one on the southern border of the US.

Well said adaydream. You'd never have made a statement like this while Bush president. Yet it's somehow OK for you now.

Dude, their is a fat lot of difference between walling yourself in and walling others in. One is acceptable and the other is not.

And are you so geographically and historically challenged that you can't spot Israel's problem? Its not a matter of having a Muslim neighbor. Its a matter of being Jewish on stolen land on the center edge of the Arab world, with literally Muslim neighbors on all sides. And the ones they walled in, pointedly, many are the rightful owners of the land they stole. Not all of it, but how much does it take to make a pariah?
