I guess Israel has a point, better to make sure these chemical weapons do not get in the hands of terrorists, so if Israel has to bomb the hell out of them chemical weapons plants, etc..KABOOM! Let Israel do what it has to do!

Netanyahu has been chomping at the bit to go after both Syria and Iran, but hopes for U.S. support. Not sure he's going to get it right now, but we'll see.

Meanwhile, there is news about an explosion at an enriching facility in Iran, which Iran denies, so maybe there is some support for Israel from somewhere. I wonder who is involved in this, and if this is a precursor to a Syrian attack after all, since Iran has supported Syria in the area of chemical weapons. The world is getting entirely too interesting.

God sake, keep out of it Israel.
As soon as they launch an attack every moderate Middle Eastern country will go bananas, and those less than moderate will launch their own attacks against Israel.

Thunderbird:
All the islamic countries surrounding Israel hate the Jewish state anyway. By the way, the most "moderate Middle Eastern country" neighbouring was Syria under the Assad regime, but that is quickly weakening.
As for Israel, the possibility of Syrian WMDs reaching groups like Hizbollah and Hamas is of immediate concern, so you can hardly blame them for needing to act on that quickly.

Erm, a preemptive strike on... what? On the rebels? On the dumps? If the former, how?
If the latter, is it not highly highly, highly, highly, dangerous to attempt to undermine or bunkerbust a massive chemicals and biologicals dump? Are they hoping that fire will consume most of it?

According the the Jerusalem Post the real story is not so much a preemptive strike on Syria. Syria sounds like a smokescreen. Farmboy is closer to the pulse:

The Israeli government has been wanting to go after Iran's nuke installations for several years. The fact that the Iranians have the facilities in bunkers would indicate that they expected this. So yeah, I expect Farmboy is right, in the long run. In the meantime I'm sure Israel has no intention of allowing Syria's stockpiles of chemical weapons to be dispersed. They probably know where they are. I'll bet they launch a raid before the weekend. The only reason they would hesitate is civilian casualitites if the gas gets loose. Hard to say what the damages are going to be but I'm sure it won't be pleasant.
