And Hamas continues to 'defy' Israel.

How that's going?

How many more people in Gaza must die and how much more damage to Gaza must be done before rockets stop falling in Israel?

How many more 12 story apartment blocks are Israel going to destroy before their blood lust is sated? This is another act that done by anyone else would be seen as extreme terrorism.

It is going very well, thanks to solidly anti-Israeli press and continued sponsorship from Qatar et al. From the Hamas perspective, the more dead civilians, the better.

A bigger problem for them is that the new Egyptian government is increasingly closing the weapons smuggling tunnels from Sinai.

Expect Hamas to agree to a "ceasefire" once their rocket arsenal is depleted, but not before that.

Exactly. If Israel continues their blockade strangulation and open slaughter of Gazan people, the symbolic resistance will continue on until the last rocket is fired, but it won't end then. This has already been made crystal clear during earlier Cairo talks. In a concentration camp situation the ultimate outcome can be determined in only one of two ways. Either an annihiliation of the inhabitants; or their rescue by outside forces. At present global geopolitics favors the former (which is why survivors of other notorious concentration camps are now so aghast). Therefore, more war and the consequent horrors of war lasting into and beyond Yom Kippur are now certain.

Oh stop repeating the Hamas propaganda already. Gaza is run by a terrorist organization that is openly committed to attack Israel. So Israel is checking the flow of goods into Gaza to try to limit the flow of military materials, mainly rockets. Should they allow all the rockets and bomb materials to flow into Gaza that Hamas wants?

For that matter, Egypt also controls its border with Gaza and closes the tunnel entrances that they find.

So why are you not lambasting Egypt for "blockade strangulation"??

Egypt closed off the tunnels without destroying 17,000 residential buildings. Now they are supplying Gaza with electric power and basic water requirements. Inevitably the border between Gaza and Egypt at Rafah will be reopened and goods flow will be fully resumed in earnest. Meanwhile destroying housing infrastructure serves no purpose beyond asserting collective punishment as a form of social persuasion by negative reinforcement. It will accomplish nothing permanent.

Simon

I'd like to know if you have a dog in that fight. 'Cause of you don't, here is what I think of you:

you are like the guy standing around two brawlers, lamenting that one is taking a hell of a beating. And blaming the winner for winning.
