That number will rise.

Now, I am generally disposed to see Israel's side of things, but one thing I cannot condone the way Israel lives by the following maxim:

Step on my toe, I cut off your head.

Ah, yes, Israel... That lonely, noble outpost of decency and humanitarianism we all love so much.

Actually, in that part of the word, it is, and your sneering remark only reveals ignorance.

The media bias is of course on your side. Note that the kidnapping of 3 Jewish kids is not even an issue in the media. But the moment Israel responds, we get informed on everything on a daily basis, and of course everything is presented as Israeli aggression. Pathetic.

Of course it's Israeli aggression. They are the ones occupying and oppressing the Palestinians. It's impossible to view anything they do without considering that.

@Willi

No, not ignorance.

Actually a close interest in the whole Middle East problem, coupled with constant reminders of the behaviour of Israeli "settlers" (ie thieves) and their thuggish government.

God help us all if every nation chose the Israeli way....

If the rest of the civilized world were to adopt Israel's approach of solving problems, i.e., my way or the highway, the whole world would be a bloody mess. I usually have a certain amount of sympathy for Israel because of what the Jews have suffered historically, but they have stepped over the line of human decency an awful lot with regards to the Palestinians.

There is yet no evidence of who might have kidnapped the three boys and Israel has wasted no time in arresting and murdering innocent Palestinians. This is page right out of the Nazi way of doing things. Remember the Reichstag fire? Deep down inside I think that Netanyahu worships Hitler.

Israel can get away with outrages like those cited above because it can get away with it. Just like the Nazis. There are no sanctions in store for Israel. Perhaps there will none should Israel carry out a Final Solution against the long suffering Palestinians.

Please note there are Israeli citizens who condemn what Netanyahu is doing. They need our support.

Well let's try again. Who actually kidnapped those three teenagers? We do not know. The Israeli government does not know. Yet, the Israeli government has arrested and shot most likely innocent Palestinians and killed one no doubt innocent 14 year old Palestinian boy. This is not how a democratic government is supposed to operate. Collective punishment of a minority group for crime by unknown persons is the earmark of tyrannies and insane governments a breath away from tyranny.

So far there has been no outrage nor even anguish coming from the US or Europe. This is nearly as outrageous as the what Israel is dong to the Palestinians as I write this.

But this aside, what about the three kidnapped teenagers? Let us not forget them. Depending on who kidnapped them they are either doomed or severely in peril. The last thing they needed was what the Israeli government pulled. Regardless of who kidnapped those boys, their safety and release depends on collective cooperation, which includes the Palestinians. The Israeli government has alienated the Palestinians and, therefore, lessened the chances that the kidnapped boys will be seen alive again.

The safety of those boys should have been the priority of the Israeli government. It was not. One can now only hope against hope that whoever kidnapped those boys is either clever enough or good enough not to harm them.

Evidence Before you accuse anyone of a crime you need evidence. Before you have evidence you cannot accuse anyone. To get evidence you investigate using the scientific method. The gather of evidence is not sensational; it should not be. Once you you have evidence that can stand up in a court of law, then you can arrest suspects. That is how a rational and democratic government should operate.

The Israelis never accepted the formation of the Palestinian unity government, so they came up with this excuse to turn Palestine upside down.

"Step on my toe, I cut off your head."

We don't know who stepped on the toe, we don't even know for sure if any toes were stepped on...

All we know is that 3 Israeli hikers apparently disappeared.

The US invaded both Japan and Germany precisely because both would not do things the US's way. That Imperial Japan and Nazi Germany were particularly odious -- and therefor justify to many the US's acitons -- should not blind us to that fact.

Oh, really? How so, please elaborate.

Who wrote Japan's Constitution? And under what conditions did Japan adopt it?
