Israel’s decision to build 112 new housing units on lands Palestinians claim for a future state highlighted the tough road ahead for those seeking peace in the region.

...on lands that belong to the Palestinians according to the International Court of Justice. I hope they can reach a JUST settlement soon.

    International Court of Justice

    A total joke. Move along.

Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad...said government revenues are up, partly due to economic growth projected at 7% this year.

There's a world-wide recession and yet the "Palestinians" are experiencing economic growth. How does that happen when you're supposedly under the brutal occupation of the Zionist regime?

donor countries’ desire to see more money earmarked for infrastructure, health and education.

Rather than suicide bombs, Qassam rockets, and Swiss bank accounts? What a concept.

No point in talking when it's in bad faith. israel is stalling, building more (internationally recognized as illegal) settlements, and thumbing its nose at the world. It will still collect its US$7-17 billion annually though. According to Lieberman the foreign minister, israel "should be seen as an angry dog, too vicious to be bothered with." The word should be "rabid."

Good. Then maybe the Muslim Arabs will leave them alone.

“Israel announced its partial settlement freeze in November”

The important two words here that shouldn’t be ignored are “partial” and “freeze”. When put together they mean that some building was going to happen. Please try to keep up and don’t miss out the little bits that don’t support your argument.

“it does not violate the moratorium that the Israelis previously announced,”

Bad timing yes, bad faith, possibly not. And I say possibly because maybe it was thought to delay the announcement, but then they thought why the hell should we? After all only the Palestinians from the West bank are beginning to talk about talking, Hamas isn’t involved so where is a peace settlement going to come from? Until Hamas gets onboard where is the point in Israel talking to anybody?

I too hope that a JUST peace settlement can be achieved, but without Hamas agreeing to join the talks and also agreeing to Israel existing I can’t see how even baby steps towards peace can be taken. By the way, I thought Sabi was Iran’s official spokespersons, has he changed jobs again?
