    Helter,

Thanks for that link! That is truely unbelievable! Mr. Jackson is one of the most self-centered people on the political stage (which is really saying something). I think he is just jealous because people actually take Barak Obama seriously. Jackson definitely managed to make himself look like a spoiled idiot.

You do know that someone else had made a comment of the same to Obama, Jessie would have been jumping up and down.

Apparently Jackson said Obama was "talking down to black folks". What irony considering race pimps like Jackson have made their fortunes by keeping the black folks down.

  • kinniku at 04:39 PM JST - 10th July

Yes, Jackson has certainly been a 'user' for some time now. I really think he does not want Obama to be in the spotlight.

he's a has-been, and a never-was...he and Sharpton have done more to set the black community back than anybody else

Red - No need for blanks here - Jackson said "I want to cut his nuts off."

    Dayum.

My appeal was for the moral content of his message to not only deal with the personal and moral responsibility of black males, but to deal with the collective moral responsibility of government and the public policy which would be a corrective action for the lack of good choices that often led to their irresponsibility,”

Can someone tell me what in the heck that means in english.

  • kinniku at 10:23 PM JST - 10th July

    Hi, sailwind!

Allow me to translate into English: "Hey! I'm Jesse Jackson! Pay more attention to me! Why didn't I get nominated? I'm better than Obama any day! People should ask me to run for president again. By the way, did I mention I'm Jesse Jackson?"

  • sailwind at 10:30 PM JST - 10th July

    Kinniku

Agreed, have to give him credit though, at least he didn't play the 'Race card' agaisn't Obama. I'll leave it that on this one.

C'mon, sailwind, you really can't interpret that message? kinniku's lame attempt at humor aside, what Jackson is saying is this:

"Black males are not entirely responsible for their condition. Society shares in the responsibility. Therefore, Obama needs to stop harping on the personal responsibility part."

The irony here is that the posters who accuse people like Jackson of "holding black people down" are actually supporting Jackson on his point. Which is: Black people are being held down, whether by government policies or folks like Jackson or Sharpton, by forces beyond their control.

For the record, I agree with Obama's tack and not with Jackson or the posters who inadvertantly lend him support.

Jesse's time has come and gone, he's about as relevant in US politics these days as Ralph Nader.

  • kinniku at 08:08 AM JST - 11th July

    yabits,

C'mon, sailwind, you really can't interpret that message?

First, Jackson's message is a horrible message of negativity and hopelessness. Yes, my humour may be 'lame', but I believe I was on point. Jackson misses the spotlight and is jealous of Obama's appeal.

While you are at it, could you also interprete Jackson's 'nuts' comment? I'm sorry but this is an example of backstabbing at its finest on the part of Jackson.

While society always bears responsibility for its citizens, Obama's message of self-reliance and responsibility rings far truer than Jackson's message of constant finger-pointing and blame. Mr. Obama is the future. Jackson is not. With his comments Jackson further proved this.

Translation: "It's Whitey's fault, now pay up."

When I was a child: A certain Jessie Jackson came down to neighbouring South Africa - apartheid, to give the 'black brothers' moral upliftment as he put it. And I must add, our plight in Rhodesia was a central theme... He stuck us 'black African brothers' with a $15,000 dollar fee!!!! Now please don't zap my post again, but the sly weasel sent a "pay or else" note as soon as his emancipated butt was back in the US.
