Johnny Depp voted 'Sexiest Man Alive' title

Get lost, Hugh Jackman. This year’s “Sexiest Man Alive” is once again Johnny Depp.

Depp nudged aside Jackman to get the coveted endorsement from People magazine Wednesday. It’s the 46-year-old actor’s second time as “Sexiest Man Alive.” He also won in 2003.

Kate Coyne, senior editor at People, said on CBS’ “Early Show” that Depp has achieved an almost “iconic status in terms of sexiness.”

Says Coyne: “Johnny Depp was someone who was sexy 10 years ago. He’ll be sexy 10 years from now. He’s someone who appeals to multiple generations of women.”

Depp joins other double winners Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Richard Gere.

Matt Bomer, who stars in USA’s “White Collar,” was named “Sexiest Rising Star.”

And how come dead women are not sexy? For instance, Angelina Jolie has never played a dead person has she? Kirsten Dunst and Meryl Streep and Cher have played dead people, but whose sexy list are they on?

Salma Hayek in Dusk til Dawn. She played a vampire. That is the exception that proves the rule. That was a decade ago.

Shouldn't the title be: Sexist Hollywood Actor? (John F. Kennedy, Jr. is the only non-actor winner) The 'sexiest man alive' thing was all started by Mel Gibson in 1985.Johnny Depp is a great actor but I've never thought of him as being really sexy.

anyway, a man does not need to be handsome to be considered sexy or lovable. He must be honest, strong, never say a hurtful lie, and treat women nicely. Liers, men who hurt women for selfish reasons, unloyal people who put their ego first should go.
