Get lost, Hugh Jackman.

Why should Hugh Jackman get lost? Is that an attempt at wit? I am sure most women would jump at the chance to be with last year's winner of this silly title, the year before that, and the year before that.

And I will bet there is a guy in India, another in China, another in Nigeria and even one in Alabama, each one sexier than Depp. But as bushlover points out, some people live a very tiny pathetic little world.

Sexiest Man Alive... I wonder why the ALIVE is necessary there. Why does that have to be emphasized? Are dead men sexier? Why aren't they included?

I heard that the Twilight guy was the first runner up this year, but the only character he has ever played is dead... a vampire. And Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt played vampires. Tom Cruise was dead in Vanilla Sky too. Brad Pitt has played death himself, actually. Patrick Swayze is now actually dead, but the year he won was for his role in GHOST... where he was dead for the whole movie. Hugh Jackman, last year's winner, is most famous for being Wolverine in the X-men movies. That character had died and was resurrected. And Johnny Depp was dead throughout the whole third Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

Conclusion: Women think men who play dead characters are sexier. The Sexiest Man Alive list should be the Sexiest Dead Guy list.

5SpeedRacer5, I can't say if you are correct, but the reasoning of the case was genius! The judges of the oontest may be necrophiliacs of a sort. Maybe they imagine the guy died for them, which shows the depth of the men's hearts?

And how come dead women are not sexy? For instance, Angelina Jolie has never played a dead person has she? Kirsten Dunst and Meryl Streep and Cher have played dead people, but whose sexy list are they on?

Salma Hayek in Dusk til Dawn. She played a vampire. That is the exception that proves the rule. That was a decade ago.

I am surprised that it all fits so well, actually. Guys like LIVE women. Women like DEAD guys.

Shouldn't the title be: Sexist Hollywood Actor? (John F. Kennedy, Jr. is the only non-actor winner) The 'sexiest man alive' thing was all started by Mel Gibson in 1985.Johnny Depp is a great actor but I've never thought of him as being really sexy.

PS Johnny Depp us handsome but Korean actor Joo Jin Mo is my number one man hadsome, sexy, hot and lovely. Also Korean singer Rain known as Pi is so handsome too.

anyway, a man does not need to be handsome to be considered sexy or lovable. He must be honest, strong, never say a hurtful lie, and treat women nicely. Liers, men who hurt women for selfish reasons, unloyal people who put their ego first should go.
