Woodward is interested in only one thing: Keeping his name in the news.

" hardball tactics used by President Barack Obama’s team to try to rein in reporters."

Yep, gotta keep the lapdog media singing the same official tune. Whistleblowers will be silenced, much like Dishonest Abe did to dissenting newspapers and writers, imprisoning tens of thousands of opposition newspapers and censoring all telegraph communication.

Woodward merely chirped slightly off-key.

Here's the email from Gene Sperling. I dare you to say that this is threatening as Woodward claimed.

"I do truly believe you should rethink your comment about saying saying that Potus asking for revenues is moving the goal post. I know you may not believe this, but as a friend, I think you will regret staking out that claim. The idea that the sequester was to force both sides to go back to try at a big or grand barain with a mix of entitlements and revenues (even if there were serious disagreements on composition) was part of the DNA of the thing from the start. It was an accepted part of the understanding — from the start. Really. It was assumed by the Rs on the Supercommittee that came right after: it was assumed in the November-December 2012 negotiations. There may have been big disagreements over rates and ratios — but that it was supposed to be replaced by entitlements and revenues of some form is not controversial."

sheds a light on hardball tactics used by President Barack Obama’s team to try to rein in reporters.

Reign in?

The email chain, leaked to Politico,

Here Media, your Master Obama's got another bone for ya! Fetch, Fetch, Fetch and publish it and we need to make Woodward look bad, good lap dog, good lap dog!!!!!!!

Now that they got it out there through the poodles at Politico, time for the rest of the Media to fall in line after the " unintentional Leak" to get back at Woodward, as they've now got cover to take down a reporting legend and look so innocent doing it:

But a closer examination of his dust-up with White House economic adviser Gene Sperling may undercut Woodward .

Mission accomplished, or one could say Mr. Woodward is now going to really be made to regret staking that claim and actually messing with the White House official lines. Looks like the implied threat to his reporting reputation has happened after all. Pretty sure the White house is happy now to get back at him.

Speaking of 'All the President's Men,' it is safe to say that Redford will not be reprising his role as Woodward based on this one email exchange with economist Gene Sperling.

Wasn't Woodward involved in the Scooter Libby scandal, or am I thinking of another improper leak case?

I think I'll go along with Woodward on his thinking. Even if he's off-track, Obama's bloodhounds should lay off. I still like the idea of freedom of the press ... not a government-controlled press ...

rein in ... Reign in.... tomAto, tomahto. Surf,

reign, noun definition:

the period during which a sovereign occupies the throne. royal rule or authority; sovereignty. dominating power or influence:

Obama's lap dog Media acts as his palace guards, always keeping him from any harm so my use of the word reign as a substitution in the article really is quite apt here :).

Not too sure what kind of spin they are trying to put on this, but Woodward has his job to do, and we citizens have our, to keep them HONEST!

Dishonest Abe did to dissenting newspapers and writers, imprisoning tens of thousands of opposition newspapers and censoring all telegraph communication.
