I think it is high time for the US and other countries to let Karzai take care of things himself.

Karzai is an idiot interested in self preservation but allowing Afghanistan to slide back into anarchy isn't a solution.

Well, he knows a fair bit about how the U.S and Pakistan covertly operate, seeing as he worked with them against the soviets. My money would be more on Pakistan or Iran supporting the insurgents in these attacks though, they would love to develop a deeper rift between Karzai and the US.

Hamid is off his meds again. Boy, can we Americans pick 'em or what? (I'm going with "or what?")

In our new kinder-gentler version, we can pick a leader to run a "country" (with its lack of national identity, unifying language and mutually hostile tribal groups, Afganistan needs huge air quotes), but we can't unpick that person when he turns out to be incompetent, utterly corrupt, hostile, and oh, yeah, CRAZY.

About a Trillion USD in total spent. Tens of Billions in development (a large portion of which went into Karzai's pockets while we averted our eyes). Thousands of lives lost and tens of thousands damaged. All so this guy can accuse us of adding terrorists?

Good bye, Hamid. Not one more drop of blood for you. When the Taliban get there, and trust me, they'll be there soon, see how much you sweet talk works on them. The last guy in the position that you'll be in soon was dragged from the U.N. Compound, beaten to death, and dragged through the street.

This guy is like a two headed snake, he has always had his hand out for more cash ( anyone remember the stories of sacks loads of cash being delivered to his office desk ) and speaks ill of his masters who have been giving the sacks of cash.

Time to send a drone over to his address me thinks.

Nah. Much better to leave him to his own devices. Same outcome with less effort.

Wicked dress sense, though...

His fez may be on too tight, but the US has a long, well-documented history of initiating / instigating / coordinating regime changes.

Everyone knows about Hamid Karzai. He is most corrupted president in the world. He let his family member siphoning donors' money and involve in drug trafficking in Afghanistan. US and Nato let Karzai to take care his business and get out of Afghanistan.

Next Afghanistan Government must investigate on wealth of Karzai family and relatives.

Washington and its NATO allies have since poured billions of dollars of aid money into Afghanistan and sent tens of thousands of troops to the country to battle the Taliban.

No more!!

Karzai is desperate as we are pulling out and leaving him in a vacuum. I never trusted this guy from the beginning, we should never get ourselves involved with this guy again.

Basra 2005--Two SAS commandos dressed up as insurgents were laying bombs, and drawing the suspicion of Iraqi security forces, engaged in a firefight with them. They were captured, locked up, then sprung by the SAS.

But that was the SAS and Iraq. The CIA would never do anything like that in Afghanistan. I am sure that when the all the documents concerning Afghanistan are redacted and allowed to be reviewed by the public in 50 years or so, all of us concerned will surely be alive to note that the CIA is really just a nice bunch of dudes and we will have the proof in our hands! But why wait? You can google the CIA and find they never did anything like start or perpetuate a war. Ever. So all this unwavering belief that the U.S. could never do something like what Karzai suggests rests on totally solid ground. And I mean rock solid.

Someone is giving a negative response to my post hoping US stays in Afgan to go down with this regime. No way Jose!! LOL. This person has not realized this is a response of majority Americans. Bhawaha. We will get hell out.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

I gave you a negative response because you seem to think its all Kharzai's fault and try to place blame solely on him, rather pointedly skipping over America's much direct role in the debacle.

Plus you act like Kharzai betrayed you and America when his first duty is of course to the Afghan people.

I have no desire for American troops to stay in Afghanistan. But I also have no desire to "leave Kharzai in a vaccuum". Kharzai is the Afghan president. To leave him in the lurch is to leave Afghanistan in the lurch. I have no hope for Afghanistan, but America must take some responsibility with money and materials at least.

I appreciate your open criticism. Money and materials will be continue to Afgans, but all yanks come home.
