I suppose he would have been safer in Afghanistan then. But obviously the Pakistanis don't take orders from Karzai.

Seems to me Pakistan did what it chose to do with the info the US supplied it. Since Baradar was arrested on Pakistans territory, Karzai really shouldn't blow up about this. The Taliban border-hopping has never been taken care of so this is the consequence since Afghanistan isn't working with Pakistan unlike the US.
