I think killing off Osama Bin Laden by Mr.Obama's orders i/was a great news! Idiot Bush gave us that so called Mission Accomplished, yeah right! Looked real good in the papers and on CNN etc...but we knew it was not going to last. Now going in secretly with Navy SEALS in the middle of the night deep, deep into Pakistan and killing off Osama bin laden then dumping his ass out at sea, now, this is something Hollywood should respect and make a movie, honoring our men and women in uniform, risking their lives to hunt down these evil terrorists, so my hat is off to Mr.Obama and to all of the men and women in uniform who are putting their lives on the line for both YOU and ME.

This seems a bit odd. I don't recall that the news story about Bin Laden itself was all that remarkable. There were conflicting accounts at first, as I remember, and not much discussion. There were much better articles written about other subjects - better writing, and more in-depth coverage. I guess they are evaluating the news value rather than the story value.

My guess, is that your guess, is kind of on the right track there, but if it were not for these crazy earthquakes and tsunamis and the Fukushima Nuclear Power plant melt down etc..I still think killing off Osama Bin Laden would have been the biggest or most important news of not only 2011 but heck of these last 10 years after September 11th, 2001!

I wonder where the rewriting of history so that it was George Bush who actually was responsible for Bin Laden's death ranked on the list.

It was pretty high on my unintentional humor list, to be sure.

@Serrano Never going to happen. Its called the American mentality of there being no world outside of America.

Personally myself i believe the Tohoku Earthquake/Tsunami was the biggest story of the year, followed by the death of Bin Laden and finally the Summer riots in the UK.

LOL@unreconstructed. Gotta agree with you there. The miraculous phenomenon called Tebow would definitely be number 1 in US sports news for this year. Heck, "tebowing" is a word now.
