The Kurds deserve our support, and so does Assad. Who else stands up against ISIS? Certainly not Turkey, which is enjoying the oil with ISIS steals from Syrian wells and sells to Turkey for a discount.

more like repeated airstrikes help them hold ISIS off (for now). Seems a matter of time before they strike somewhere else where least expected.

@AKBfan, that's like the old Monty Python skit, "nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!"
The last place I expect them to attack would be a submarine assault on the Mariana Trench.
If these ruffians ever do set up their own state, they will find out that governing is a lot harder after the "shock and awe" of their brutality wears off. The wanton slaughter is a double edged sword that may bring in new recruits temporarily, but undermines their chances of anyone accepting them as partners.

Torafusu Torasan:
They HAVE set up their own state, and they actually ARE governing it, and so far their terror tactics DO work for them. And it does not look as if this is going to change any time soon. While wishful thinkers continue to predict their demise, the numbers of Salafists is groing by leaps and bounds everywhere where the Salafism is preached, including in Europe.

WilliB so getting bombed for US jets shows their tactics working for them does it ?
They have attracted unwanted attention now and I suspect they will be bombed stupid.
If turkey is buying the oil from these butchers then turkey needs to be sanctioned and stopped, anyone who sympathisers or supports these animals needs a kick in the chops.

WilliB, before this whole Iraq thing happened, IS and Assad seemed to have some kind of mutual non-aggression understanding.
WilliB
nandakamanda:
No they did not. The Sunni jihadis have been trying the overthrow the secular Assad regime for decades (of course, ISIS is a new name). The only thing new here is that the US government is now actually supporting the medieval headcutters.
