Human rights groups say the junta has jailed about 2,100 political prisoners.

Do they have oil? No? Then why should the world care?

Sounds like you speak for the so-called pacifist crowd.

Do "Human Shields" care about Myanmar? What keeps them from travelling to Burma and showing the world what social justice is?

Would love to see a regime change in Burma. What is happening there is just wrong. Something really needs to be done to kick out this junta of degenerates and help return democracy to the country.

Well, you can't deny that the Burmese junta dictators and oppressors have been quite successful in some ways. They have been successful in

1) completely demolishing any form of democracy

2) creating one of the most impoverished states in the world (while managing to keep their own fat faces)

3) ruthlessly killing any Burmese nationals who demonstrate for freedom

4) drawing up 'laws' with the ease of creating text messages, intended to ensure the geriatric idiots stay in power, denying the Burmese people any right of self determination

And the list goes on. But who cares? There is no oil in Burma.

Mods, You need to change elections to read 'elections' If the Elections are not really elections, they should be noted as such.

“This is the regime’s response to Ban Ki-moon and the international community, who have been expecting that the regime would hold the election inclusive, free and fair,” Aung Din said.

After reading this article, my question is, did anyone really expect this group of thugs to hold free and fair elections? Indeed, I would have been truly shocked had they allowed real elections in Burma.
