There are no infidels in Sirte. Never! The infidels will be burned in their tanks!

Heh, whatever happened to old Comical Ali? I hope the Americans didn't hang him too. Gadaffi could use hime right now as he's clearly going to fight down to the last line of his coke stash.

But yeah I agree, resistance is futile. Why anyone is prepared to fight to the death when the inevitable is obvious is beyond me, mad dog Gadaffi aside.

adverts - He's alive and well, living in the UAE !

You're right, Gadhafi could use him now -

We have them surrounded in their tanks!

I just checked him out too :)

Maybe the colonel could try taking himself hostage at the end, a la Blazing Saddles. I have to say he really is showing his shared DNA with the cockroach for just simply existing still.

It remains unclear how many civilians remain in the city and how many of them remain loyal to Gadhafi and his forces.

Who they're loyal to does not matter; if they're civilian, they should be protected. I am happy that both the rebels and NATO seem to be acting in a way to limit casualties on both sides.

As for why they continue to resist: there are many there who are not civilians and have, according to the rebels, committed atrocities. They are dead either way.
