It's a bit hard to feel sorry for these people when you understand that the reason they store their jewelry here is because they are either too stingy to pay for insurance or they don't want to declare their wealth to any insurance company because it won't match what they have been reporting to the tax authorities.

They still got robbed of what was rightfully theirs. I feel for them.

he may have lost up to £50,000 of uninsured jewelry and watches

Why would anyone have that much stuff and not insure it?

“I have a collection of watches I was going to give my son and that is irreplaceable.”

Playing on the heartstrings? Again, if it was so valuable, why no insurance?

If the thieves did take drugs and firearms, I hope they and the booty are quickly found. But hoarded, uninsured jewellery? Well yes, find it, count it and make sure the owners have paid the requisite taxes.

This is the sort of crime that captures the imagination of the public - an old fashioned blag showing initiative and with no one being hurt. I do feel for those who were robbed.
