Having less American tourists is not necessarily a bad thing.

Who'd want to stay in a city that is expensive and a target of internal terrorist attacks? Better to get out to the country or visit a safer country like Canada.

Troubling, but it's the brain drain that the Nu Labor tax burden has caused that is really gonna hurt Engerland.
UK Telegraph:
"Go West... Will Barack Obama trigger a UK brain drain?"
Guardian:
Budget tax plan: 50p rate will create new brain drain, bosses warn
Tax moves will raise £7bn and cost the average chief executive £265,000 a year

Finally disillusioned over the hype. Oh well, there's plenty of Commonwealth WASPs who make their long pilgramage to the mother country from all over afar.

England is not the prime destination for tourists anymore. Europe is. When you read guidebooks or sites if you intend to travel to Europe, England seems isolated somehow. My brother will have his honeymoon in Spai, France and Italy and doesn´t want to visit England.

teleprompter: Utter crap. The fall in tourists were due to the world depression caused by your beleoved BUsh and his mates.
With the decreasing value of the Pound more visitors will come and that, but you see the Swine flu problem may mean less, it are hard to predict.

As usual you have got the wrong of the stick, these figures are for 2008 before the credit crash. What most people are thinking is to avoid a depressing & violent city that has little to offer & what it does offer is expensive. The fall in the worth of the pound will bring travelling shoppers, most likely from Europe but once they have bought what they came for they will not stay long, there’s no reason to.

graftion: If all you can do is make childish put down about Britain maybe it's better you didn't post about the subject.
The recession started in 2008 FACT mate. Thatand at teh time high value of Sterling was the reason for low tourism. Get your facts right befoee putting down the greatest and mostest diverse city on earth.

Yeah grafton don't you know that that is the mostest wrong thing to do: put down a country like that on this board. Except if it's everybody's favorite scapegoat. London is it's own worstest enemy with overpriced everything for pretty average quality.
