So now it's pretty much official. Let's hope they can still find the plane at least.

So its possible the plane may have been taken somewhere and landed safely?

The plane could have gone as far as Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, the PM said. My original hunch that this was done by Uighurs or their sympathizers could turn out to be correct.

Jeff

That is purely theoretical and not actually probable since they would have had to fly near various other nation's air space in which would have registered on their radar.

It sure is theoretical, but how and why else would they be in that corridor? It was one of the 2 possible corridors cited by the Malaysian PM.

Anyway, I doubt those countries in that region have very sophisticated radar surveillance.

I'd caution against jumping to conclusions; though, if this is true, then it would seem to offer hope that the passengers are still alive.

Must be truly terrible for the families. I suppose that the purported hijackers wouldn't be able to put the plane back in the air as the engines would begin pinging again.

They may not care about the engines pinging once they load whatever they have onto the plane and force a country to either shoot down the airplane or deal with an even more unimaginable horror.

The may also have trained mechanics and technicians on standby. Not that unbelievable as the plane would need to be refueled , etc. Once all the pinging, etc systems are disabled they could go anywhere.

Just a thought.

Not really. There is still zero evidence. I was reading up, however, on how it may have been possible (the highjacking), and it's looking more likely than it was before, for sure. Basically they said if the pilot and co-pilot were both in on it (or just the pilot or co-pilot and one incapacitated or killed the other) they could shut off all transponders and in an area with weak or no radar, which is where the plane vanished, they could hide themselves if the lowered the planes altitude. They could then divert, land, and cover the plane with camouflage netting. Apparently there is a market for buying planes like this and using them for other purposes.

But yes, I do indeed hope they can find the plane, and even better if they also find the passengers alive and well.

Some country where all big shots gather together in one building talking about how to further tighten grips upon certain PEOPLE. A once in a lifetime chance for these PEOPLE to slum the building with one huge airliner. What do you do, if you are the gig shots, when you already know about the plan but don't want the world to know that you know?

Major intelligence agencies from around the world have to be doing their utmost to solve this riddle. What happened?

I see they're going to have to up security at all airports.

The plane is underwater, all are dead. it was a hijacking terrorist thing. the pilot saved the terrorist doing their thing by ditching the plane in the sea. he is a hero. watch story unfold. sigh. RIP all of them, except the two terrorists, may they rot in hell.

Some reports say that the plane also went up as high as 45,000 feet and that would mean it could have flown much further in the, for want of a better word, thin air.

So what's the point of taking over a flight and flying it over the ocean until there's no gas while trying to keep the whole thing silent?
