DC uses Reagan National Airport for its "official" snow tally. Currently Reagan is at 17.3 inches which puts this storm at the fifth heaviest snowfall on record. The snow is still falling and is expected to continue for at least three more hours, so "Number 5" could easily become "Number 4" because the current 4th largest (the so-called "snowmageddon" of 2010) was 17.5 inches. Out where I live, we've passed 20 inches.

Here's a few more pictures. A couple from this morning while I was doing some preliminary shoveling:

... and one from this evening looking back down my street:

Last summer, at the height of July, I froze several pints of blueberries. Because last summer, in the heat and sun....I believed there would come a snow day this winter in which blueberry pie would scale the height of awesome. Baking now.

– A deadly historic snow storm is reportedly blowing in some parts of US around 22 January 2016 while millions of residents are said to be on radar in the path of this storm. In this regard , this Vedic astrology writer had alerted of natural disaster of nature requiring short notice in early 2016 in some parts of US in article - “ Astrological probable alerts for US in year 2016” – published last year on 15 October 2015 in online magazine thesop.org. This is the text of the related part of prediction which is highly suggestive :- “ It looks that vulnerable regions whose name begins with L , C , N, T , U could likely keep prepared at a short notice , particularly during last days of April or around in relation to fires , volcano eruption and the like natural disasters”. Though April is a little far away but the language of the prediction suggests that some dangerous natural disaster happening at short notice was in the offing in some parts of US early in 2016. To that extent , the alert prediction has been somewhere accurate. Thought readers may like to know.
