I wonder what is up with this spree. It starts with one loon and then the copy-cats see his success and off they run.

With Columbine, the boys had seen the infamy achieved by a previous school shooter, and seeking that notice they didn't get in life, out did the earlier shooter. And it's been more of the same since. Success in US school shootings appears tied to fame.

In Japan, in 2001, Mamoru Takuma went on a school killing spree with the goal of committing suicide via death sentence, having failed to kill himself by other means. He succeeded with uncommon haste, setting of a spree of attacks on children in parks (with a hammer), department store play area, street corner (with a car) by people wanting to die by death penalty.

Anyone know if there is a common thread amongst these attacks in China?

    Herve Nmn L'Eisa

" said his daughter was killed in a suspected murder case three years ago and he has a history of lodging complaints with authorities. Xinhua said the man did not act under the influence of alcohol or drugs."

This is the main point. He was driven to desperation by inaction of the "authorities" after the loss of his ONE child. Not the right thing to do, for certain.

The last line of the article is irrelevant.

No excuses for this kind of behavior/behaviour.

He should have taken his Geely to the police, not to a group of innocent children.

The last paragraph is relevant, IMHO.
