"The visit to a military hospital in Germany was scrapped after the Pentagon raised concerns about political activity on a military base." McCain is upset at how presidential Obama looked on those many, many reports from the trip. Johnny-boy, ye'r a has-been.

More like soaring, I think.
So, what did the Penatagon say?
The only people putting their political objectives over the concerns of "injured American heroes" here appear to be McCain and his campaign.

This is very good criticism ofJohn McCain to Barrack Obama,he may expose to the American people the very true nature of Obama's heart .And who know when Obama said:"..tear down the walls between rich and poor, between religions, between races...etc",they are just WORDS, empty words!Good work on McCain team.

Haha...if McCain gets in, from these types of comments it looks like I will have another 4 years to ridicule USA government.

For obama, visiting wounded troops is more inappropriate than campaigning for U.S. President on foreign soil. He'd much rather get in front of non-voting, non-Americans, than speak and see the people who might have actually voted for him.
The American voters will remember this snub from the guy who wants to be the commander of our military forces on democrat Lemming Day.

For obama, no photo op. meant no visit.
Obama was told he could visit as an official but he cannot come in an election capacity, not visit with his campaign staff
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601100&sid=aUYxHvAZThTg
If obama were sincere, he could have gone just as a U.S. Senator without his entourage and his dog walkers in the press.
Problem is, it wouldn't have been high profile enough to warrant his time.

But, but, but .... obama is on the Senate Oversight Committee for Veteran's Affairs. So, how would a visit to Landstuhl be "inappropriate" on any level?

Or it could have been he didnt want to see the men MCsame voted to use and still use as cannon fodder. What would you say to these guys "get well soon", " I didnt vote for this". As an elected official he should make time for them somehow with out all the press. But its funny this slash at Obama is the only way MCsame can get any press.

So much for the McCain campaign wanting to play it honest. Well...he is a republican. We cannot expect that he would hit on the truth, unless it was by accident.
But...in his defense, Sen. McCain was rocking the supermarket last Thursday...until he wiped out the apple sauce display.
Nothing says presidential quite like, "Clean-up on aisle 7!" ;-)

Taka as far as campaigning honest, Obama has not answered any hard questions, and I will admit he is a better speaker than McCain since he is able to changes his words and views much easier than McCain, rather than going one on one and facing the issue.
As far as visiting the troops. How many times on campaign stops in the US does an elected offical try to visit people who have had misfortunes placed on them. Look at John Edwards. A rich "SOB" like him all of a sudden finds it in his heart to go to New Orleans and fight for the vicitms of Katrina by building houses. How about going after the big insurance companies that are denying claims to vicitims because they determined that damagages were caused by wind (and thier policy only covered water damage).
If Obama wanted to visit the troops he could have done so. Here is a fact that is probably not reported, yes he has Secret Service protection, but trust me on this, when a high profile govt offical person visits, there is a military contingent standing by to assist in any possible emergency. There were facilities set up at the very hospital he did not want to visit that would have recieved him in the event he became ill and would have gotten him back to the US on a military flight.
Department of Defense rules do prohibit outright campaigning on military posts, but they don't deny service members the right to participate in campaigns. A low key visit, which would have been covered by the DOD public affairs, and pictures and videos would have been released to the press (I know, I have to watch them on the Pentagon Channel on AFN here in Yokosuka about his trip to Afg, and Iraq). So he would have gotten the coverage, just not by his entorage and press corps fan base.
Also, I believe Obama bashed McCain on not voting on the revised GI Bill and saying that he did not have the interest of military members in mind. Well, it seems that "Mr. Highroad" Obama seems to not have the interest of servicemembers in mind, only to make a political point.
I understand that for the European portion of the trip, it was financed by his campaign, but he still is an active member of the US Senate. And on one of the comittees that oversees the armed forces. So, he could easily have visited as part of his offical duites, and left the "groupies" back.
One thing this article does not state, he would have been allowed to land his private aircraft on the military base (Ramstein) and would have been driven to the hospital by military officals. Only his crowd of groupies would have had to remain in the plane area, and would not have been allowed to go with him. So, I have to agree with McCain on this.

obama's decision not to visit the wounded soldiers in germany is yet another example of his poor judgement - taking a pass on doing something meaningful - honoring those who sacrificed the most - because it wouldn't produce a photo op.
This is what voting Americans will remember the most about the obama tour.

The scandalous treatment of soldiers at Walter Reed reminds me that US politicians routinely use the wounded as photo-ops and then ignore them. Obama does not visit one hospital in Germany and his opponents grind it up for news - the wounded soldiers used once again for political fodder. They also ignore the fact that Obama did visit the wounded in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Obama should have visited the troops. I think he made a mistake on this one.
0
RomeoRamenII
Initially, obama's handlers claimed it would be inappropriate because he was in germany on a political trip.
But obama began his speech in Berlin by saying he was not speaking as someone campaigning for office.
Then obama changed his story. By once again playing the victim card, the story morphed to blame the military with the campaign telling reporters the military thought the trip was inappropriate.
The story then morphed again. obama strategist David Axelrod told reporters the Pentagon said obama should not go to Landstuhl.
Heh, unfortunately for Team obama, a military spokeswoman said obama would be visiting only to then announce he would not for reasons unknown to the military.

McCain is getting more senile by the day.
Purely in the context of this article, Sen. Obama would never have had to make this choice had Sen. McCain not made the disastrous decision to vote to authorize the invasion of Iraq in the first place.

And someone has got to ask - which is going to be more beneficial for Americans with regards to solving problems facing America and the world -
1/ sitting down with injuried US soldiers
2/ sitting down with foreign leaders?

How fun some rep. are. As the article said His spokesman has claimed that the visit to a military hospital in Germany was scrapped after the Pentagon raised concerns about political activity on a military base.
So the same blind Republicans that want to criticize are from the same group that has made the comment about political activity on military bases.. Very typical... and of course of no suprise. hahaha
Get a life dummies, You Bush supporters and selected choice as commander and chief have done a great job these last 7 years... and the incompetence of such has killed many brave servicemen and I am not pertaining to being in Iraq, but being in Iraq under incompetent leadership from the war planners under BUSH!. Give me a friggen break!
Now look at all trying to fall in the same line as Obama on position on every problem overseas.. Ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!! Even talking to Iran, trying to dal with N. Korea, something Bush said he would never do as he put down Clinton for doing, and the withdraw from Iraq which Bush and McCain now is supporting. VER VERY FUNNIE!!! But it is typical of Republicans using war, scare tactics, some sort of heroism as a back ground for support at the expense of American lives. Hey , sounds a little like China leadership.. Oh yeah rep have supported that whole heartedly as well.. Oh well what more to say?? Let’s vote Republican.. Yeah right!

McCain's tactics here really are bottom of the barrel.
Remember, it was just 3 short weeks ago when Sen. McCain was goading Sen. Obama to visit Iraq and talk with the commanders "on the ground" (where else are they - up in the sky somewhere?? :-)
McCain even had a ticker on his website showing the number of days since Obama's last visit to Iraq.
Then, Obama heads out on his extremely well planned tour of foreign nations, backed up with a packed complement of reporters (as opposed to the one who wanted to travel on McCain's recent trip) and basically rocks the ME, gets agreement to his 16-month pullout plan from Iraqi leaders, then rocks Europe, speaking in front of 200,000 in Berlin.
While the best McCain can do is gobble down bratwurst at a German restaurant and complain about Obama, and wobble around on a doddery golf cart with Bush's OLD dad, and complain some more about Obama.
McCain is feeling the heat, and his inexperience and incompetence is really showing now. His goading of Obama to visit Iraq has exploded in McCain's face, and just wait until they meet in a debate, the old guy is going to be shown up for the loser he is.
"Obama campaign spokesman Tommy Vietor said Obama and McCain both believed that troops should be honored and noted that the Illinois senator had visited troops in Iraq and Afghanistan last week and had made numerous trips to Washington’s Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Obama still didn’t want injured soldiers “pulled into the back-and-forth of a political campaign,” Vietor said in a statement."
Exactly, exactly...

Romeo - "obama's decision not to visit the wounded soldiers in germany is yet another example of his poor judgement."
LOL! As I stated above, this entire issue would not be an issue had Sen McCain not exercised extremely poor judgment nad voted to authorize the invasion of Iraq.
But I know you will never admit that - why let hard facts get in the way of your fiction?

"McCain himself joined in the rebuke, saying in an interview to be aired Sunday by ABC’s “This Week” that “if I had been told by the Pentagon that I couldn’t visit those troops, and I was there and wanted to be there, I guarantee you, there would have been a seismic event.”
Tough but ultimately meaningless talk from a candidate who had he not made the totally flawed judgment of voting to authorize the invasion in the first place, those US soldiers in Germany would never have been wounded in the first place and 5-8,000 of their comrades would not now be underground, killed for a war to find the WMD that were never there.
Sen. McCain has a heck of a lot to answer for on this one.

BTW Sarge, I am pretty sure that Retired General Wesley Clark has no problems with what Obama did. Hey btw is a General a higher rank than a Colonel? Opps sorry there I moved him up one rank too many. Retired Army Colonel Joe Repya, is really a retired Lt. Colonel, hmmmm he should use his real rank.

So long as O doesn't make it a point to visit a particular person of interest, this will blow over for his followers.
I hope O is strong enough not to punch back with words. I'm getting tired of political word games. I am sure he would have went had he could have, but didn't.
With all these word games I am starting to look at these candidates as two rappers arguing over east and west coast.

As we are reading, the republican backers read into deception as being fact when an article that states the facts are right infront of them to read...
The reason for Obama to not visit is right here in black and white..but some I guess that can not understand truth, can not read as well.
But let us hope the majority of the Americans will see past the lies , the deception and scare tactics the republicans has used in the past and look at the truths and facts that many wish to ignore. We are seeing many around the world as sick of the republican agenda as the majority here in the US. A pitty for some, but a future for all of us to wish for.

Visiting the wounded troops in Germany is no more an important demand for the office that Obama seeks than attending funerals for deceased troops is for the office that Bush already has.
There is nothing intrinsically heroic about serving in the military and the conflation of "injured Americans" and "heroes" is a nasty bit of flag waving appeal to the emotions. It would have been nice if Obama could have worked a visit to the troops into his schedule, but that's about it.
McCain is obviously trying to goad Obama into a mud-wrestling contest, which is probably the only conceivable contest that McCain could win. Obama would be wise to call for a different sport, expand the ring and play by Marquess of Queensberry rules.

He did weeks ago.
The only concern the Pentagon raised was that one of his staff Retired General and Obama adviser Scott Gration, could not accompany him as he was part of the campaign and not on the Senator's staff. General(Ret) Gration was the person who coordinated the visit in the first place and had a fit when he found out that he wouldn't be allowed to attend his visit to the hospital. I don't know if Obama cancelled out of loyality to a slighted staffer or if he canceled because Obama still didn’t want injured soldiers “pulled into the back-and-forth of a political campaign,”
I doubt the back and forth reason as he already had the visit scheduled weeks before and if any concerns about the back and forth of a political campaign would have been addressed at that point prior to making any decision to visit in the first place.
I have to go with a slighted Retired General who convinced Obama not to visit because of his damaged ego.
Bad call on the General's part put his candidate in a very bad position of defending why he didn't visit when he already agreed to sans reporters or campaign staff in the first place.

I was under the impression that Obama visited the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Apparently the Pentagon raised no cautions. How was this different and why should Obama not have responded to the caution?

Skip - "I'm getting tired of political word games."
So am I.
McCain has released an attack ad lashing out at Obama for not visiting the injured Us troops (not 'heroes' - troops).
It would have been better in my view if McCain had tried to promote the policies he stands for instead of engaging in pathetic tiresome diatribes.

He was part of an official Congressional delegation with Senators Reed and Hagel and the same rules applied. The Pentagon also raised no cautions here either he as a U.S Senator can visit anytime. He apparently understood that and scheduled the visit accordingly. His campaign staff just couldn't go and only then did he cancel.
He responded by scheduling a visit under the established rules he canceled why? I'm guessing because of a torqued retired General myself that put his ego first than doing what was right and that would have been visiting our wounded troops.

sailwind,
Thank you for the explanation. I'm still having trouble seeing exactly what happened, however. If the same rules applied in Iraq and Afghanistan and the Pentagon raised no cautions, why did it raise a caution to him in regard to Germany? Or are you saying it did not do so?
In any event, visiting wounded troops was not "the right thing" to do. It was simply a thing to do or not. In my opinion, I find it very difficult to believe that Obama cancelled the visit because it did not present him with a sufficient press coverage. Press coverage is what he has in abundance.
Furthermore, John McCain was fully on board in allowing the President to use his discretion to judge when diplomacy had failed and to put the troops in harm's way. He is the last person who should criticize anyone for omitting a genuflection at the altar of wounded bodies.

The sad truth of the matter is that Obama would be damned if he did or damned if he didn't.
Had he gone ahead and visited the injured troops, you can be sure the McCain campaign and the political squawkboxes gumming up the blogosphere would have raised absolute hell, claiming Obama was using wounded soldiers for political gain. I know that's what would have happened, RomeoRamen knows that's what would have happened, and anyone else with an grain of integrity knows that's what would have happened.
The double edged sword was easy to see, and Obama, demonstrating wisdom beyond his years, made the correct decision to not turn wounded soldiers into political opportunity. His choice goes far towards proving his ability to tend to the needs of the entire NATION and not just those who would place wounded soldiers on a political scorecard to be checked off by prospective candidates on their way to the White House.
Obama's my candidate, hands down. His willingness to mend international bridges will do more to ensure we have fewer wounded American soldiers in the future than McCain's foreign policy plan ever will.

Nah, he visited wounded troops at Walter Reed 3 weeks ago.
Obama quietly visits wounded vets at Walter Reed By SARA KUGLER – Jun 28, 2008
WASHINGTON (AP) — Barack Obama stopped by Walter Reed Army Medical Center Saturday to visit wounded war veterans, a group that he has said endures substandard care under the Bush administration.
The presumed Democratic nominee, who was in Washington to speak to the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials, slipped into the facility shortly after 9 a.m. without stopping to speak to the small group of reporters who follow him. The visit wasn't on his public schedule.
http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5jqcMrxSMmf0NEuM7AUqiF7jd_mlQD91J55BG5
I don't think your going to find anybody but the most rabid on the far right that would claim he was using that visit for political gain. Matter of fact it was class for him to do it and not put on his public schedule.
Wisdom would have been to hold to his promise to visit sans press and campaign staff after all he did put this visit on his schedule. The needs of the nation likes a President that keeps previous made appointments and commitments after they have been made, proves they are dependable and keeps their word.
Obama's staff so far has been a well run machine but they sure blew it on this one. A quick visit a quiet press release like this AP article and on to Berlin to make a speech for the ages, or more like a fluff 30 second sound bite that nobody two days latter can remember what he said but I digress.
Integrity to me means he should have kept his promise to visit not cancel at the last minute because he couldn't bring campaign staff inside the hospital. That is just lame in my opinion and the troops deserve better than that. This would have been a total non-story like his visit to Walter Reed and he has nobody to blame but his bad judgement in this for canceling.
Also ask yourself this. Do you really think wounded troops that have seen combat and paid with their own blood and hurt bodies that they are soooooo sensitive that they have to be protected from:
How sorry is that for an excuse. Thanks for your service to our country but I can't visit you in person even though I already promised that I would because you might be used as a pawn to make a political point and I'm all about change from politics as usual......... right Obama, I'd have long hard talk with my staff on how they blew this one if I was him.

I think Obama has the chance to be the first american president loved outside America. His warm acceptance in the countries he visited speaks a lot of the wide international support he has, no american president has been met with such high expectations, hope and enthusiasm. Obama has such a charm and ability to excite the people with his words like nobody before him. He is a real charismatic leader and i hope he lives up to the expechation of the people for change of the aggressive american politics to more peaceful one. He is the amerikan perestroika guy.

I guess McCain should only visit those wounded from Iraq and Obama should visit only the ones wounded from Afghanistan seems fair to me. What say you?
The majority of Congress voted to authorize the invasion Democrats and Republicans, sorry that dog won't hunt as far as blaming McCain for how we got here today that rests entirely on Bush's shoulders who took the whole nation down that path.

As veteran Republican strategist Ed Rollins observed: "McCain is having a disastrous week...It would have been better if he had just kept a low profile and stayed out of the limelight. He got dragged into making a lot of stupid comments about Obama, and there's been this tremendous contrast with the visuals, which is what a lot of people pay attention to."
MCain had to cancel his own visit to an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico after the oil spill in the Mississippi River made it kind of difficult to present the case that increased off-shore drilling posed no environmental hazards.
In the past GWB has been criticized for using our men and women in uniform as stage props. I'm glad Obama appears to recognize why this is inappropriate.

Boy I love it when there is an article that brings the republicans out of the closets.
For the past two weeks the conservatives have been hiding because there hasn't been any articles that they can blast off on.
So when there is an article where they can collect together, it's nice to see their ire, but ir doesn't make it correct.
If Barack had visited the wounded troops, the republicans would be blasting Barack anyway.
He couldn't see everybody that needed to be seen. Next time he visits the area, maybe John McCain can send along has itnerary for Barack. < :-)

I was just watching a newscast showing John McCain walking across his stage talking to a crowd.
Just looking at John McCain and the color of his skin. yeah, we all knows he's white, but he's a pasty white. He looked like a computer insert in a previously created backdrop. I'm not trying to be critical of him, just observant.
But, he's had several melanomas, hasn't he? I guess he's probably staying out of the sun. < :-)

Can you imagine the posts if Barack had visited the wounded troops in Germany and how it would be used against him for using them as backdrop? They would wild.
But I heard something that he did stop by a hospital in Baghdad to visit the doctors and nurses that care for our wounded troops.
Why haven't we heard about that? < :-)

McCain is fair game on that score because he has repeatedly claimed, with respect to the surge, "The fact is, if we had done what Senator Obama wanted to do, we would have lost."
[Yet, as Ellen Goodman points out in her syndicated Boston Globe column] McCain starts the historical clock running after the invasion and even after the surge. For all his complaints about the media, he's been able to focus the Iraq debate on the surge's success. He has said repeatedly, "I'm proud that I was right. That's what judgment is about. That's why I'm qualified to lead."
But what if "we had done what Obama wanted to do" in 2002, when he was a lowly state senator and an opponent of invasion? We wouldn't have roared into this disaster. What if we dated judgment to the prewar days? Is McCain still proud that he was right?
I am well aware that we cannot rewind the past. We focus now on the least catastrophic exit plan. When the Iraqi prime minister and Obama agree on a timetable, I synchronize my watch. But it's still fair to measure a candidate by his view on our entrance to this war.
The current president has never admitted that we invaded Iraq on false premises or phony pre-emptives or fictitious weapons of mass destruction. Bush will breeze home to Texas without a modicum of guilt. Do we want another president like that?
0
undecidedbout08
Why admit something only your adversaries - wrong all those years about the Soviets and wrong about Bin Laden's reach - believe to be true?
Moreover, I don't really see what does Bush has to do with McCain/Obama.
The fact is Barack Obama still could have visited those soldiers, as a senator, to thank them for their service.
But he chose to blow them off.

Obama shows his lack of concern for those fighting bto keep the world free for all of us. McCain is shown to be the only patriot candidate.

And John McCain could have voted for the GI bill offering expanded educational benefits to thank them for their service.
What's really going on here has little to do with the issues. It's a game in which each side tries to make the other acknowledge error while avoiding similar concessions.
I remember the reaction of the Right when GWB, safely reelected, conceded that taunting the insurgency with "Bring it On!" might have sent the wrong message. Acknowledging error, for those on the Right, is a sign of weakness and to be avoided at all costs.

That Obama chose to visit troops privately and unannounced at Walter Reed only serves to prove the point that he obviously values the sacrifices made by troops sent to fight Bush's War, contrary to the bleating we keep hearing from opposition that not visiting the troops in Germany equates to a lack of Patriotism™.
It's distressing when posters pull out the patriotism card to try and make a case against Obama. Reminds me of when people were having a hissy fit because Obama didn't wear the little flag pin, as if a pin a patriot makes. Infantile, seriously. I guess that is the only way the radical republicans can look past their incompetence, is to try and pass on the blame to the democrats that have been out of power for 8 l- o- n- g years when all has fallen apart within the last eight years, even our leadership and image around the world because of lies and deception some here are wishing to stand behind and support. And still all has went down with these politicians in control. not reviving anything.
And when was the Trade Centers brought down? Under who’s watch? Oh yeah, hey lets blame the democrats since they told the Bush administration about the Alquida being a major threat and as the republicans in control decided to forget the intelligence of terrorists using planes and the timing of when it was about to happen… I just wish there was some competency earlier when Bush launched the Iraq war so there would not be so many injured soldiers laying in military hospitals for one to visit.. All water under the bridge at this point because of the fact, Bush’s policies screwed many people except his large corporate interests wanting to fill their pockets.
I know the truth hurts and it is hard to face up to such devistating facts of all that has went on in the last eight years, but it is time to face up to reality and change what has been going on for the sake of the USA.

**"Senator Hagel, Senator Obama and I visited the combat support hospital in Baghdad to thank those nurses, those doctors, to see patients that were there, to bring a bit of greetings from home and profound thanks," he said. "That should be in the ad that Senator McCain is running. **

But this didn't get any media. Cry cry John. I'm waiting to see his next town meeting and his whimpering about all Barack's attention. Few more tears and a few more little fists into the air. < :-)

TonyUS,
Quite a rant!!!! Typical liberal , all talk no substance at all.
Obama only cares for the liberal elite and his socialist pals.
Only option is to vote McCain.

Please do not use Old Man Mc in a sentence that has the word Conservative in it. That word loses him as much as the other word, ECONOMY. I think his head would blow up if he had to think of these two words.
Hell Surge, I think Old Man Mc is more liberal than Obama is. So if your telling someone not to vote for the liberal why tell them to vote for Old Man Mc? Are you one of those hiding is sheep`s clothing liberals yourself?

This is no surprise as Obama has opposed the conflict in Iraq from the beginning, but is willing to invade Pakistan. Obama is lame, and his rock-star style gatherings are empty and full of lame rhetoric and political double-speak. He won't get my vote (but neither will sore-loser-in-2000 McCain, who's also turned his back on conservative values more times than I care to count)...

Joe - Old Man Mc may be more liberal than many Republicans, but Obama makes him look like Ronald Reagan. Check out Obama's voting record in the short time he's been there.

In an op-ed piece in the LA Times entitled Ich Bin Ein Obaman, the author discusses Obama's reception in Germany:
On one level, Obama's popularity in Germany has everything to do with George W. Bush's failed presidency and the transatlantic tensions caused by the Iraq war. But on another, it has everything to do with the decline in German political culture.
"This is a German problem," said Wolfgang Nowak, a former high-level advisor to Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder. "The sad news is that no single German politician could get one-tenth of Obama's audience. He's telling us that politics can be different. It doesn't have to be dirty, that we can all work together."
The thing is, I remember Gorbachev receiving the same reception in Washington when he visited during the dog days of Iran-Contra at the end of Ronald Reagan's presidency. He even went so far as to point out, "I already have a job" when someone suggested he might run for the US Presidency. Everyone except the far Right viewed him as a source of hope. Our hopes for him were not misplaced, moreover, he did really represent change.
Few Americans have hope any politician change the way Washington does business. It costs so much to run for office that winners are inevitably beholden to those who put up the cash.

Cleo, how can you have such outlandish views on Fox News.
It is a media outlet that prides itself of showing no bias left or right.
Maybe , because it is not biased like other news stations, it seems so strange to you that you cannot understand it.

Old man Mc more liberal than most democrats. Now tell me this do you believe that Old Man Mc is a Conservative?
Hell tell me this, how many present day Republicans are Fiscal Conservatives? True fiscal Conservatives and not this wishy washy spend happy new type of Conservatives.
Let me help you out to answer this, definition of a Fiscal Conservative:
Fiscal conservatism is a political phrase term used in North America to describe advocacy of lower governmental spending practices and a lower federal debt; It is used to define someone who is an advocates of less government, fewer entitlement programs, earmarks, and lower taxes.
If you find one please point them out, and I bet ya they are not. Records show the truth, words are not worth a dime.
At least with Obama I know what I am getting. BTW who do you think has acted more Fiscally responsible as a Preseident, Clinton or Bush?

Sorry Surge, if that was a rant, it is a shame it is all fact that republicans and their supporters would rather ignore and play it off as something trivial when it is entirely not trivial when it comes to life and death, security of one’s nation, and being looked at by the world in a positive light instead of being seen as some dark mysterious untrustworthy land of Satan.
Now look at the lies coming out from the McCain camp, as usual the republicans will say and do anything to get into power again.
If anyone has any shame, or sense, they should be looking towards the democratic side which any change from what we have could only better the lives here in the US and around the world as well.. What we have now has really downgraded the US all over the world.
Do not back the lies that McCain is trying to feed everyone and is being called on,this very moment with this Obama trip overseas.
I wish all could have all the facts about this trip by Obama and what lies the republicans are trying to put forth as truth. The media here in the US is really pointing out McCain’s lies about Obama’s trip and the big over blown issue on visiting wounded troops in Germany. The networks are really pushing McCain’s statements as lies at this time here in the US.
All about Obama not visiting because cameras were not allowed to go in with him, the truth was.. there was never going to be cameras going in with him. McCain saying he made time to exercise instead of visiting the troops, while in McCain’s add on TV about this issue, It showed Obama playing Basketball.... Basketball????? Yes basketball with the " Troops" in Kuwait.. What the republicans will do to try and put down an opponent as the republicans have again and again use lies, and scare tactics to gain a vote.. Dirty Dogs!!!!!! Just listened to McCain’s lack of support over the last couple of years with voting against medical support for veterans, period of rest put forth by Jim Webb, against millions for upgraded armor, and goes on and on, and he is trying to exert lies about Obama when it comes to the troops?? Again the joke is on the republicans and those supporting them… Now a well known question.. are we better off today then we were 8 years ago.. How many will say yes to that and really believe it?
If this is a rant, then let us point out the lies or untruths within it.. And what lies are in the pre-post described by Surge as a rant… These republican supporters just can not stand up and admit to their mistakes they have made but try and shift the blame to the other side while at the same time holds the responsibility of why the US is in the condition it is today and what the US is seen to be around the world today..

TonyUS; you really believe a guy like McCain would lie?
He can`t risk lying he would lose all credibility.
The world is a far better place than 8 years ago. The US economy is growing, Iraq is free!!!!
So many positives to see, everything is positive, don`t you agree?

well , people what ever the case is Mc cain will complain about just about anything Obama does. Remember when he wrapped up his nomination, Mccain took a trip abroad, He didnt get near the response Obama encountered. back then he sure looked like he was "presidential". The fact of the matter is that we should not have been in Iraq in the 1st place, Mccain should visit the injured troops in iraq, why???. he plans on staying in Iraq if he is prez..... Obama was against the war and will pull the troops out.
I think mccain should be in Iraq more often or go to the VA hospital all over and see what the policy of this president has done to tens of thousands injured servicemen, who cannnot get decent medical care, or secure a job other than a police officer and security guard. why do they have to go through another stress of worrying being shot in the line of duty. there will always have the "surge, sarge of whatever he calls himself"of this world, purely ignorant people. We should commend obama, he was recieved enormously by the world leaders. and he doesnt need to go to the hospital to show his committment to the troops. Bringing them home makes him a hero just enough.. this like vietnam, we should not have been there in the 1st place. Bring the troops home, and rebuild the tarnish image we have, be humble and strong, and i am sure if mcain had the same response Obama had overseas, he and the rep. would be overjoyed.

That is a pity Surge that you are such a diehard and have taken in all the BS Bush has put us through the last eight years. ... If that is the case then it is time to listen and read all the articles and base your thoughts on the facts and not put aside those issues that do not seem to belong in your well censored world., To start with do a little fact finding on the Obama issue and the truth is McCain has lied and tried to deceive everyone and got caught at it.
At least the news agencies are calling McCain on his deceptions.. Deceptions??? Same personality and direction Bush has been known for, and again treading in the same footsteps of the leadership of China.. No wonder he has gotten along so well with China in his eight years of presidency, and then add into the non-sense of how Mr. Bush could see into the soul of Putin and what a good guy he was as he threatened to veto everything the US stood for against Iran and as he at the same time stepped backwards away from democracy in Russia.... One has to admit, this bush administration has been a real joke , not just here in the US but around the world, we should be proud if that is what we like to be seen as... Now McCain.. war mongering Mr. righteous and troop loving, as if anyone does not respect our service men.. What a crock these republicans are these days.. I am certain my vote will cancel yours if you do not smarten up and open your eyes to the truth and reality!

TonyUS; As a matter of fact, i watch Fox News daily. I have yet to see any reports of "McCain deception".
Bush deals with foreign leaders in a true statesman like manner.
Bush is not a warmonger, he is a defender of our freedoms.
McCain will continue GW`s diplomatic successes, Obama would be to weak to deal with important matters of state.
McCain, shall continue the success of Bush, we shall be richer, the world continue to universal freedom.

Damax6;
McCain is indeed a man whon cares deeply about his country, and cares more about injured trops than Obama ever could.
He is a great man, hopefully even greater than Bush.
Fox news is known for haveing very moderate views, and shows a balanced view of the world.
Watch Bill O`Reilly, and i am sure we will be in agreement.

George BUsh and McCain both care deeply about wounded troops, and also injured and killed civilians.
THey are both very caring , intelligent men. Their genius has kept us an superpower, even though we are in a long term war against the evil ones.
Don`t be blinded by the liberal media.

A little unrealistic for McCain to expect Obama to be plugging for him.

History will vinidcate President Bush for his actions against Iraq. He's been an excellent President, and yes, he's taken his knocks, but he did it for doing the correct, the right, and the righteous things. Obama nad McCain only wish they could be half the president and 1/10th the MAN that President Bush is....
