McCain is a great patriotic guy. these actions and words, show how much he cares for his countryman. A hero and a gentleman.

SushiShake, ush has excaped down to his ranch in Texas.

Why isn't he back in Washington where he works during the short amount of time when he's not holidaying in Crawford?

When the US cruiser shot down the satellite from the middle of the pacific ocean, Bush was in Africa on a tour. With the instataneous communications network he has at his disposal, as well as a probably command center either on Air Force One or there in Crawford, he could be on a shitter and direct efforts. So his location is irrelivant. As long as he is not seen in the public eye as going off to vacation would it be relevant, and even then, there is all ways someone right next to him with the necessary communication equipment for him to call and get a status update.

Actually Bush and Cheney are both going to be in Dermatology Surgery once again trying to get those big 'L' tattoos removed from their forehead during the convention.

Palin used to be a member of the PTA. She is over qualifed." Hey, that's no joke, considering the politicians we have today....

Plus she is a member of hotwives.com." This is a joke, right? How does she look?

Maybe god or mother nature or some other force is trying to tell America something by washing out the GOP convention. Take the hint guys and step aside. Time for some change.

I'm with you, tkoind2. Maybe God is going to kill people and destroy cities as a message to Republicans.

Stephanopolous just said that maybe this is a good thing. Less exposure for the GOP in the middle of a disaster, so people don't make a causal link between the two!

Heh, Bush and Cheney are in a dilemma - either go to the GOP convention and lie about how well the American economy is doing, or go to the cyclone zone and lie about how "well" the Government relief efforts are going.

They get to show their true colors both ways - they can't lose LOL!!

Is there really such a thing as "essential opening-day activities"? I think the republicans should all run away from Gustav (and the USA).

  • Madverts at 05:05 PM JST - 1st September

Gawd, can't McCain stop bush and cheney from speaking?

Mr 20% and Mr 8% aren't IMO going to help his chances...

I personally think that if the GOP is trying to portray themselves as being concerned about the people in the path of Gusto, they are wasting their time. Nobody from that area is going to vote for them.

"the GOP is trying to portray themselves as being concerned about the people"

After the Katrina fiasco, even Karl Rove cloning himself 100 times wouldn't be enough to bullsh!t their way out of that one...

Less exposure for the GOP in the middle of a disaster, so people don't make a causal link between the two!

    That makes sense.

Before that, I was thinking that since there is no disaster YET, that the GOP should go on with the business of concern for the future of the nation. What are they going to do in preparation that has not already been done? Purchase extra socks and bottled water? And if the government is not prepared now, they are not going to be soon. Michael Chertoff, if he was planning a speech, ok, maybe he should bow out and be in his office along with the current FEMA admininstrator. The rest of the GOP should have their convention, right up until a disaster is confirmed.

But the casual link idea does make sense, except, it is not actually all that casual.

The GOP is trying to portray themselves as being concerned about the people

Meanwhile, every white-bread liberal with a XXXXXXXXXXXX is crying crocodile tears over the big wind that killed a bunch of black people who were not "intellectually gifted" enough to get out of the way.

"McCain's acceptance speech, set for prime time on Thursday evening, is among the most critical events of the campaign for his chances of winning the White House"

Perhaps the most critical event of his campaign has already taken place - his introduction of his running mate, Sarah "Barracuda" Palin in Dayton Ohio.

    Madverts:

"the GOP is trying to portray themselves as being concerned about the people" After the Katrina fiasco, even Karl Rove cloning himself 100 times wouldn't be enough to bullsh!t their way out of that one...

So the fact that they turned the first day of their convention into a fundraiser for the people of New Orleans and the aid agencies, raising millions of dollars, was just more "bullsh!t"?

    Whatever.
