Well, at least McCain has a great sense of humor! I am sure they will all get along just fine after the elections next Tuesday.

It's nice to see that he can be a little self-deprecating now that it's all but over. I really respected McCain before this election campaign began and all his and Palin's negative tactics, but I've lost nearly all of it. Seeing this SNL brought a LITTLE of that back, along with the fact that once McCain goes back to his position as Senator, he'll likely calm down some, and hopefully work hard to get back some of his dignity. Anyway, good job on the SNL appearance, McCain.

For those who missed the opening skit:

I liked the commemorative plates Mr. McCain was hawking to honor the 10 McCain-obama Townhall Meetings; the plates did not have any decorative designs on them because they didn't take place.

    Too funny.

I suggest a re-wording of this headline. It should read: SNL pokes fun at McCain campaign.

The opening skit was pretty funny. John McCain finally gave me something to smile about. Well Sarah Palin is a nice piece of eye candy, so I guess he gave me two things to smile about. < :-)

At the risk of being accused of not having a sense of humor, it is pretty sad that politicians feel that it is necessary to subject themselves to shows like SNL, Letterman, and the View. McCain and Palin are hated by most of these people. Heck, McCain was accused of wanting to bring back slavery on the View. From what I've heard, at least the SNL caste was respectful to McCain and Palin when she was on the show. Also, I don't mind a few political jokes but SNL is too much into political comedy.

If it wasn't for SNL, McCain/Palin didn't have many reasons for Republicans to smile. < :-)

Gang, I absolutely love it! I damn near voted for McCain just to keep Palin on the grid; she's the best thing to happen to SNL since Belushi!

You really love your country, don't you, Dude?

Really? I like seeing them there. It shows a different side of the candidate, makes them look more human and not the typical robo-candidate. It also brings them into the lives of a lot of younger people who might not take enough of an interest in political campaigns.

I thought it was disgusting. A 70+ plus man acting like a kid. Its pretty sad that we judge politicians on MTV these days.

Thou lackest the humours Skip. SNL is about entertainment. McCain decided to do it, just like a few other politicians showed that they can laugh at themselves and do it willingly. Humble yourself and people will like you better.
