Quote: "German authorities said Wednesday they had registered around 577,000 asylum seekers in the first nine months of the year, a third of whom claim to be Syrian."

Is there a breakdown of where the other 66% come from?

Better yet, what gender and age breakdown? Europe will be forever changed for now on.

Unless these people are somehow going directly to Germany from Syria, how are they not ALL "financial migrants"? They were out of the war zone in Turkey, in Serbia, in Jordan, etc. Islam has become a plague on humanity. Why would anyone want to invite its adherents into their country is beyond me. The fact is that Muslim majority countries are for the most part backward with dysfunctional societies and governments. The totalitarian nature of Islam plays a key role in this dysfunction. It is not compatible with western culture and values.

The process, which forces frontline states like Italy and Greece to process and welcome most migrants, “started from good intentions… but the challenges raised at our borders are from now on untenable,” Merkel said.

Looks like she bit off more than she can chew. And soon the US will have a similar problem or (plural) problems. Turkey has predicted an additional 2 million refugees will be leaving for eastern europe too.

Only a third of the invaders claim to be from Syria and many of those are lying. Will Merkel send the 2/3 back to where they came from?

Merkel unilaterally broke the rules of the Dublin agreement and Germany should deal with the result itself instead of trying to foist the invaders on other countries.

Merkel argues for the demographic suicide of Europe, and incredibly she will probably get the Nobel Prize for it.

Heh, found a pic of Merkel in a burqa. Merkel has told Germans to prepare for a new nation. This is friggn' scary. I hope congress, US state governors and local city councils find ways to curb the future influx of those refugees before they reach Lady Liberty.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said Wednesday Europe needs to rewrite its “obsolete” asylum rules to tackle the migrant crisis

Meanwhile here in the states there was a featured news article in many U.S. papers about Japan's atrocious record regarding asylum.

Rigid, restrictive, appalling, stingy. OK, probably so. But atrocious? If you can please quote the article with the 'atrocious' line.

LOL now theyre boarding boats to go after the smugglers, sound very much like the effective Australian policies towards boat people. These same policies that were lambasted by many EU countries only a few months ago. Starting to understand the only way to stop this tsunami on people is to get tough on the smugglers and the fake asylum seekers of which there are many.

How many refugees is Russia, Syria's ally, taking in?

How many WANT to go to Russia? Also, how many refugees is Saudi Arabia, Obamas ally, taking in?

How many refugees is Russia, Syria's ally, taking in?

Probably none. Besides these refugees seek opportunity, prosperity and a little freedom. Those cannot be found in countries like russia and saudi arabia.
