Since he launched his campaign last summer, Trump has taken aim at Mexicans, saying they bring crime and drugs to the U.S. and are “rapists.”
And the racism of the GOP sponsors Trump's bigotry at their debates. Why doesn't the RNC simply declare Trump persona non grata? There is no legal obligation for the RNC to include Trump and pay for his televised appeal to ignorance and racism.
MarkG
$757M in foreign aid is an incentive. By the way kc, the southern border illegal immigrants do bring crime. It starts when the walk across the border. Some bring drugs, coyote rape of the young girls, and the gangs who bring plenty of crime into USA. The US prison system is disproportional percentage of illegals incarcerated.
Trump was a bit rough with the delivery but not off with reality.

I keep saying....Trump is not racist. He simply inflates delicate issues. Do the research not the liberal MSM headlines. You may find you've been mislead.

"....Trump is not racist." - comments So why does he cheer his rally supporters who beat up blacks? Why, then is beating up blacks the set piece of Trump rallies?
MarkG
He did no such thing kc. Careful where you source your news. Many MSM news outlets are not reporting responsibly they have quite a liberal bias.

FACT: The protester, a black man, reportedly started chanting Black Lives Matter at a rally in Birmingham, Alabama on Saturday. In a video captured by CNN reporter Jeremy Diamond, rally attendees swarm around the man, kicking and punching him as he curls up on the ground.
FACT: >Trump was asked to weigh in on his supporters’ actions on Fox & Friends Sunday morning. “Maybe he should have been roughed up,” he said. “It was disgusting what he was doing.”
FACT: Racism is rampant in Trump's fan base, his television sponsors and apparently the RNC who welcome his bigotry at their "debates".

I may be wrong but I don't think Trump was saying that he will demand the Mexican government to pay the US $10 billion to build the wall. He could add a transaction charge for every product that Mexico ships into the country. He can just impose the charge with no Congressional action required. All he needs is Obama's phone and pen.
nishikat
It will be a lot more than 10B (come on this is a govt. estimation to sell it to the public like the Iraq war). Mexico will still tell Trump to screw off.
Chicanoinjapan
For those of you who keep denying that Trump isn't racist, you need to get your head out of the sand. Trump once said that he believed that there shouldn't be another black president in a while all because Obama has done a terrible job. To me, this is very racist. Does the color of your skin really determine whether you will be a great president? Of course it doesn't. That's pretty much trying to discourage future African-Americans from running for president, all because supposedly one president ruined it for all of the rest. I wonder why Ben Carson never brought this up on any of the debates he had with Trump. Also, Trump re-tweeting neo-nazi propaganda to try to show his followers that whites are being killed disproportionately by blacks is incredibly racist. It was racist and a false report. As expected, he denies any of the accusations and quickly goes on to say that he's the least racist person there is. What a dimwit.
Laguna
No, he could not - not without unilaterally abrogating NAFTA, a treaty agreed to by Congress. He would also lose the case Mexico would certainly file against him with the WTO. The same goes for his bluster about trade with China.
badsey3
Mexico will be building and paying for Trump's wall. The U.S. can send 100,000 illegal Mexican criminals in our prison system to help build it.
-Trump's wall will be a labor of love towards Mexico and a symbol of peace. Good fences make good neighbors it seems.
Trump loves Mexicans, but their Gov is very corrupt and should be expunged.
nishikat
I remember Trump saying this in the debates

Anyone would think from reading this incessant bleating about "liberal bias" that there weren't any news outlets with a conservative bias.

For some readers, the accurate depiction of Trump is evident in both the acts and reaction to acts rampant in Trump rallies . . . let's read together some insights the Mexicans have observed and Americans in regard to Trump and his loyalty rallies.
"Former Mexican president Vicente Fox and Felipe Calderon had already derided the idea (of Trump's iron curtain) and compared Trump to Adolf Hitler." - article
FACT: "David Duke, a white nationalist and former Klu Klux Klan grand wizard, told his audience Wednesday that voting for anyone besides Donald Trump “is really treason to your heritage.”
March 3, 2016: In a criminal complaint filed with Louisville, Kentucky Metro Police . . .
"Everyone was afraid," Shah said. "I was expecting some pushback from Trump supporters, I was not anticipating neo-Nazis."
"In a criminal complaint filed with Louisville Metro Police, Shah alleges that Matthew Heimbach, a leader with the white supremacist Traditional Youth Network, rushed her and other protesters at Trump's rally."
"Jefferson County prosecutor Tom Wine said that if any police investigation into incidents at the Trump rally results in the filing of felony charges, his office will present the case to a grand jury."
"While not prejudging the results of any investigation, the conduct depicted in the videos of these encounters at the Trump rally is not acceptable in a country that prides itself on the right of peaceful assembly and a free exchange of ideas," Wine said."
"Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear said on social media Wednesday that footage of altercations at the rally was disturbing."
"There is no place for violence at an event based on our constitutional rights of freedom of speech and expression," he said."
There is no place for violence at an event based on our constitutional rights of freedom of speech except at Donald J. Trump's loyalty rallies.
Unsurprisingly the RNC welcomes the racism Trump promotes at every one of their "debates" not once condemning his outlandish and un-American rants of uncontrollable rage at skin color, faith and gender.
The reader has confirmation that the Republicans have refused to expel Trump from their stage of candidates even as video of assault and racism is openly available from a minimum of six cities.
In response the Trump campaign has moved aggressively to remove journalists, their camera operators and independent reporters to "media pens" to restrict and prevent coverage of incidents of assault.
President Fox has accurately characterized the poison the Trump campaign is fueled by.
That poison is hate in all its forms.
Black Sabbath
Just goes to show how Trump's bluster fails. What's he gonna do? Declare war? What a dope.
Just more evidence for what even most Republicans know:
this man is not qualified to be President.

It is what it is. Mexicans are bringing in the drugs and doing the crime. The southern border is a joke and you know it. But its easier for you to point ur finger and say, "racists."
Heck. Even (the incarcerated) "El Chapo" wants to be extradited into . . . yep -you guessed it - the USA to serve his time in US prison instead of Mexico prison.
That's okay. We don't need their dirty cartel money anyways.
CrazyJoe
I will take advice from Mexico when they have people swarming into their country illegally for work and benefits, and they welcome them with open arms. People generally don't want to go there to live, and when they do, Mexico kicks them right the hell out.
SuperLib
You've have to be pretty dumb to support Trump because he told you that Mexicans would pay for a wall.
shonanbb
Put a wall tax on every product that crosses the boarder.
Remember, it is not just Mexicans crossing the boarder. It is a huge group of people from Central and South America.
Bgood41
Of course Mex. gov. doesn't want to pay for the wall ( it costs a lot s of taco), but fund can be allocated from various means such as fees or taxes for crossing the border if wall being built. Yes to law abiding legal immigrants, and no to illegal immigrants and related activities. If proper implemented, it will benefit both countries in many ways. Most nations have strict immigration law and follow international agreement on refugees issues. Mexico will earn respect by stop exploiting illegal border crossing for future fair trade in the continent.
nishikat
So Trump said 10B$? What if it ends up being tens of billions more? And it could if you look at government cost projection history. If I were paying US taxes I wouldn't want that any more than paying for Iraq war cost overruns. Especially since hispanic illegal immigration is reversing. Also, in the future the number of Asian immigrants (for better or worse) will far exceed hispanic ones. What about the "wall" for the influx of illegal Asians that are expected?
edojin
As has been pointed out in some posts above, there is a way to make Mexico pay for the wall: tax them across the board. Heck, the U.S. might make enough money to even build a wall along the Canadian border ... thus saving the Canadians money on this issue if they should ever decide to build a wall to keep their southern neighbors out.
The_Pope
@MarkG: give up. JT is a sounding board for liberals who are not open to hearing the truth. What rapes? What drugs? Juanita, where did you put my yoga mat? Guess how he will get Mexico to pay for the wall? Its so simple, its brilliant. Close the ports of entry for national security reasons. In a week, the 10 billion dollars from Mexico will be in the US Treasury. Second thing President Trump will do -- arrest the entire San Francisco City Counsel for violation of federal law (I dare say a few of the members will enjoy their prison stay) and any other stankuary city will receive the same for violating the law. Lets see how many Thumbs Down I can get.
takeda.shingen.1991@gmail.com
Terrible idea. In turn, Mexico will do the EXACT same thing, starting a trade war. Brilliant, and building a wall will do next to nothing to stop illegal immigration. Walls can be scaled, walked around or dug under.
Also, let's not that 30-40% of illegal immigrants entered the US illegally and overstayed their visas. You build a wall, and guess what? that number skyrockets. We have now spent billions of dollars on a useless and started a trade war with our second largest trade partner. Well done.
What DO we do? Eliminate demand for illegal laborers. Fine companies and individuals who violate the law, enabling others to do so ungodly amounts of money. Businesses would no longer higher illegal workers and people stop coming illegally.
nishikat
"Eliminate demand for illegal laborers." Impossible. It was tried on the state level. Do you like cheap watermelons? Look at the political fiasco in Alabama and how they had to roll that law back (quietly) when they tried it for farm picking. And Alabama is Trump-ville. Americans can't pick watermelons even if they tried and wanted to.
takeda.shingen.1991@gmail.com
No, not impossible. As you pointed out, it was tried at the state level, but not at the federal. Not at all unlike gun laws, if enacted at the federal level, it would undoubtedly have an impact.
They could, but not at the same wage as Mexicans or other migrant workers.
So, again, as you said:
If you like cheap watermelons you do not want to pay higher prices, you do NOT want a wall or what I proposed. If you Trump supporters get your way, and Trump does get rid of illegal immigrants, get ready for higher food prices. And don't be angry, because its what you wanted all along.
lostrune2
There may well be a wall, but Trump may end up the one paying for it. Unless the US would have tariff wars with Mexico. Otherwise people who believe there's a bridge at Manhattan that's on sale
Thunderbird2
That is unless they are Muslims or Mexicans it seems. I'm also wondering if Trump has been influenced by Judge Dredd's Mega City One, which has a wall around it to prevent the wretches from the Cursed Earth entering... instead of mutants Trump wants to keep out Mexicans, and has basically labelled them all as criminals and rapists. Nice. I hope he meets a bunch of Mexican people making a decent living in America, and spouts his racist filth to them... maybe then he'll get his eyes opened - or gouged out.
The man is a dangerous idiot... The world can do without him in charge of nuclear weapons - he and Putin would end up killing us all.

I grew up in one of the suburbs of Los Angeles. When I was a child it was a great place to live. Block after block of single family homes, good schools, shops, store, etc. The houses were well maintained, lawns mowed, kids played football in the streets. In the summer, we would stay out late and play, enjoying the warm weather. My classmates in high school mostly went on to universities, some to the top schools.
A couple of years ago I drove through my old neighborhood with my wife to show her where I grew up. We were rather shocked when we drove through. The houses were now dilapidated, some with dirty sheets or metal foil in the windows instead of curtains. The houses which had lawns had knee-high grass, other houses just had dirt in front. The sidewalks had broken glass, garbage, and waste spilled on them. The neighborhood smelled of stale urine and spilled beer. Chickens ran around the numerous beat up cars parked on the street and in the driveways.
The house where I lived had been repainted a livid green color, the orange tree in the front yard my brother and I used to play on was now a stump sticking out of the ground. The garage had been converted into an apartment, the hedges were overgrown, and hid the windows. A rusty chain link fence supported by bent metal poles surrounded the yard. It was painful to look at.
The walls everywhere were scrawled with graffiti, junk cars sat on flat tires or on blocks in driveways. Young women with small scantily clad children sat in front of the homes, groups of young men in t-shirts and cowboy boots hung out in small groups, usually near a car. Mariachi music could be heard playing in the background. Spanish was the only language to be heard.
There were no more shops or stores, all of them were closed or demolished.
It was beyond shocking. I remembered all the houses, and the people who lived in them when I was a child. I cut the grass and delivered newspapers to many of them. The families were working class, neighbors worked for Hughes, Rockwell, or McDonnel Douglas. Some were small business people, all were hardworking, and easy going. We had fireworks parties for the fourth of July, and every house celebrated Halloween.
We then visited my old high school, which had been enlarged a bit, but which had also been encircled by a tall fence with barbed wire on the top. We had to pass through a gate guarded by a police officer when we went in. Nearly all of the students were hispanic. A former classmate of mine was now a teacher at the school, and we had lunch together. Funny that my high school where so many went on to good universities now had a dropout rate of more than 50%.
One needn't be a bigot to hate the effect that unchecked illegal immigration has had on America, particularly in the southwestern states. I am all for as many immigrants as possible, provided they respect the law and come legally. And after they arrive, I expect them to integrate into American society, to become part of America, and live like Americans. I do not want to see them turn American neighborhoods into the crime-ridden slums and barrios like those they grew up in.
Trump can very much force Mexico to pay for anything he wants, if not directly, then indirectly. There is no getting around NAFTA, but it would not be very hard to get those large American manufacturers who have set up shop in Mexico to come back, and it would be even easier to discourage any new outsourcing to Mexico. Personally, I am against this, but Mexico is wrong when they think that Trump can't make them pay. Simply requiring valid identification and a tax form for international money transfers would be all the leverage he would need to "influence" Mexico to play ball.
nishikat
Cheaper watermelons by American pickers? Part of the solution would be Medicare(aid) for all. But Southern states like Alabama don't want to expand Medicaid so far.
I heard Trump wants to patrol the Rio Grande with a nuclear submarine.

@sangetsu03. Spot on comment from start to finish. Ur story is very-very similar to my experience. Eventually though, most of those original homeowners (my folks included) moved on to greener grass & into upper middle-class communities.

What do you care? His story is spot on. Many native southern Californians can vouch for sangetsu03's post. Visit LATimes.com more often.

"What do you care?"
Because people make up stories which I suspect about this one. Like (you know) one other person who claims to be a CEO, a journalist for NBC and Washington Post, a mysterious military history, and moved to Japan to become a Japanese citizen- he also claims to have an elderly brother fighting the MS-13 gang. Wow! Talk about "the most interesting man in the world" BTW, how is your job and the Department of Defense?

If you read most of sangetsu03's posts here and there, he doesn't really BS anything on any one topic. (Me -I'm guilty as charged). C'mon nishikat, cut they dude sum slack.

Oh, OK, sorry:) We are just having some fun here. But chickens walking around? What is that? Farm animals in the suburbs? That sounds like the white Bundies.
Me? I'm just humble Mr. Minimum Wage dude! Nothing exciting about my profession!

I find the chickens portion absolutely believable. As with the full story. Chickens are a low maintenance low cost food source, just as in Mexico. Eggs and eventually poultry. I'll one up it. I knew of a pig raised by Hispanics for slaughter in a big city I grew up in on the east coast.
You can take the Mexican out of Mexico but you can't take the Mexico out of a Mexican unless they themselves want to assimilate.
