As a Mexican this makes me very sad, but I do not loose hope. The USA is highly responsible for all the money and weapons the mafias in Mexico, Colombia have, so Obama needs to understand that if he does not help Mexico now, and these heavily armed mafias keep killing off Mexican police and soldiers, it won't be long before they start killing off American immigration officials, border patrol agents, police, soldiers etc..time for Obama to help the Mexican government to really fight against all of the scum in the mafias.

Can't keep trying to pass the buck off and deny the responsibility of your own country bud. Government corruption is the main cause and reason for Mexico's woes. The US can do what it can on its end, but is in no shape to fix Mexico's government for them.

I agree with HonestDictator; you can't blame this on the US. There may be some supply and demand issues in terms of guns and/or drugs, but the problem on the Mexican side is on the Mexican side, and as the aforementioned poster mentioned it runs RAMPANT through the police force. How do you think they knew when and where to ambush these guys and could coordinate things so well?

I do hope the US will lend a hand, but I reiterate that it would not at all be because they HAVE to.

Anyway, good on the government to not giving the mafia any leeway on this.

It does not matter whose fault this is, it matter the with what response the Mexican government takes. In this case Mexico has answered a threat by striking quickly. The United States should help out with what ever the Mexican government requests.

The U.S. should do whatever is needed to stop illegal arms sales over the boarder.

The President in a recent speech claimed that 90% of illegal arms recovered in Mexico are from the United States. Then Fox News tries to debunk our President's claim by saying that less than 17% of weapons come from the United States.

Well Fox News tried to play with the numbers and came up incorrectly and so did the President.

The best assessment that is our these is that about 45% of illegal weapons seized in Mexico are American made. While the rest are made else where.

But, most of the weapons seized come from Southwest border states of Texas, California and Arizona.

BTW my source is from FACT check and not Huffington so you can scream at the none bias site......

We need to help the Mexicans by stopping illegal weapons sales and weapons trafficking....

BTW most of the weapons are not stolen from average people. They are military grade weapons.

Also we need to make sure that American mercenaries are stopped from going over the boarder also. No I am not talking about Blackwater....

We must secure our border and no, we do not need a Berlin wall. We need to use the tools that we have already in place.

The United States should help out with what ever the Mexican government requests." True but at what cost? I am sure if it got any worse and if Americans start getting killed, there may be a backlash against Mexicans living in the US, and that backlash will first come from American born Mexicans.
