Ridiculous. Anyway, wherever they bury him he will just revivify (like in the Thriller video).

    Stirfry,

Don't count on it mate. We've got the toxicoligy reports and all the money grubbing to come from the estate - and potentialy more kiddy fiddling accusations to boot.

Quote: "City officials ...hailed the tally a success, saying it was far less than the nearly $4 million estimated cost."

Compared to the estimated 4 million, 1.4 million is cheap? Is LA flush with cash, or are they just proud to do this service for MJ? No-one needs to pay the city back, then?

MJ said the amount of money he made and spent is about 1000 million dollars,he also said he was receiving USD 200,000 cheques when he was 12. One of the positive billion dollar creator of the planet.

A big loss for US music industries future millions, as he was also a composer of music.

He also created many new steps and styles in dancing. A big loss also for the dancing industry.

A big loss economically for the planet in global music industry which employs many.

$1.4 million absolutely wasted. $1.4 million L.A. and California couldn't afford...

    Stimulus!

Surely the Jackson shriek fest created the stimulus sarge is refering to. From what I've read the state of California put a petition on-line for donations from Jackson fans since they're skint....

....I wonder if anyone coughed up.

Still, if I were a tax-payer in Cali I'd be pretty pissed my tax dolars went to pay for this. Why the hell was the event free in the first place??

Because charging admission to a funeral is tacky.

"Because charging admission to a funeral is tacky."

    Heh, I guess you're not a Californian tax-payer.....

My guess is that the tax revenues that his record sales produced, plus the charitable donations he made to provide extra services that the government didn't have to pay for, plus the jobs he created making his music and videos might eclipse the $1.4 million for the funeral.

But that's just a guess, I'm no financial expert or anything.

Yeah I never saw him in a welfare line, and Im sure he paid more tax than a lot of Californians.

Now the rumors will start that he's not really dead. Probably hanging out with Elvis.

How about taking the money from his ill gotten money he has left?

Could NeverLand pay off the millions of debts he owed as well as the maintenance of his memorial? They're gonna be buried with his soul, I guess.

This tells you where the priorties of LA city management. The recent Lakers basketball team celebration cost over $2 million, Michael Jackson $1.4 million. With city facing substantial budget deficit, the city leaders have their head in the sand.
