This is reminiscent of several recent well-coordinated attacks on military installations in Afghanistan too, and of the Mumbai attack.
They must be practicing to refine their methods. Each time a team gets wiped out, they must start planning for a new one.
Karachi is allegedly a hive of underground activity.

Anyone else wonder what the Chinese military personal were doing on the base with Pakistan's newly acquired P-3C Orion planes?

It's time that the USA stop wasting their time and money on countries like Pakistan that offer what??? A haven to terrorists. The USA should remove all their military from the vast majority of the world and let them fend for themselves and protect it's own borders, drill oil at home and stop making the average American a pauper through wasteful governmental spending and sucking up to foreign lobbyist tactics to destabilize it's economy. Pakistani payola has not accomplished jack has it??

Hawkeye, the militants have not yet got hold of a Pakistani nuke which they would presumably love to drop on India or XYZ, some other convenient 'godless' target.
You could argue that the Pakistani payola has so far helped prevent this from happening.
(Relative peace being preferable to total anarchy?)

I prefer that the USA withdraw and all the middle eastern contries fight out their battles by themselves and the USA stay out of their conflicts.

USA will lose billions of dollars if it pulls of mid east countries.how you solve that?

Er, people, Pakistan is not the Middle East, it's part of the Indian subcontinent. So perhaps it would be more correct to advocate an American withdrawal from south-central Asia.

Do you take the fight abroad, or sit back and let it come to you?
Don't envy America being the world's police force.

Talk about a bad couple of weeks for the Pakistani military. First the U.S. flys in undetected and takes out Bin Laden, and now a "high-security" naval base gets seized by a bunch of Taliban. Truly scary that the militray leaders there control a nuclear arsenal. They are clearly incompetent.

No wonder Bin Laden could slip under Pakistan's porous defenses. Pakistan should self-examine why their defenses are so porous.

Dry run for a Jihadi raid to "liberate" Pakistan's nukes?
