"The attack in the Khyber Bazaar area demonstrated militants’ continuing ability to strike Pakistan’s major cities, despite military offensives pressuring their networks."
No, it didn't. It demonstrated the stupidity and ugly side of human nature, yet again. It also showed their fear of what is to come. And it demonstrated that such people are essentially two-faced. They speak of a glowing spiritual future, but the reality is more carnage and death. Disgusting.
I think raja has it right except that the government of Pakistan was democratically elected and the Taliban are trying to overthrow it. Nanda makes some good points too.
I'm going to nominate you both for the peace prize.
Must be constantly stressful for people in these war torn areas wondering when and where the next bomb attack will be.I went to Kashmir,Peshawar,Kabul and other places around there around 22 years ago.Lots of beautiful buildings and scenery and lots of poor but busy, happy people. Now as you say.Carnage.Where is the love? I read the forums and You Tube comments written by Pakistanians and Indians about cricket for example. So much bitterness and hatred towards each other.Seems to even be increasing if that is possible. There must be a win-win point for them all somewhere or do they actually like all this fighting?
