“We have to send the right message,” he said, “that they are not welcome here.”

Why? Shouldn't muslims help other muslims? Now they will go to the U.N. snapping their fingers for action. Pathetic. Those of which (3rd worlds), who contributed nothing to the modern world anyways.

Hope UN will ask some countries thar have shortage on workers or declining birth to rescue these refugees

Wc626. I think developing Muslim country should help Muslim peoples and resettle them in their country. Islamic Countries have failed to help their Muslim brothers (Muslim always regard another Muslim as brother or sister).

Every country has its own domestic problem. UN and Human Right watch organization blaming Governments for not helping and resettle war refugees and economy refugee in their country was not helpful. UN needs to long term solution for refugee problems.

Here's my suggestion.

All refugees from Asia should be settled on Indian territories’ Nicobar Island chain and Andaman Island chain because once Bengali refugees regardless of fled from Bangladesh or Burma they were British Indian citizen and a lot of uncultivated land on those Islands.

Nicobar and Andaman Island chain was once British Colony Government considered for Anglo-Burman and Anglo-Indian peoples for resettling on those Islands when they left Burma and India. No Indian had step on those Island chains until British colonized them. British East India Company had imported Indian laborers for Cane Sugar firm after colonized Islands. Those Islands were used as shelter from storm by merchant ships from Ceylon Kingdom and Burmese Kingdom before British invaded Asia.

Anyway India will be benefited from resettling refugees on one those Islands because most of Islands’ lands were uncultivated and with those refugees’ manpower can develop those uncultivated land to turn useful agriculture land.

I see it as only long term solution for those unfortunate peoples. No country was wanted them. I don’t blame those countries because some of peoples from those refugees have committed serous crimes and the community does not want them. Also culture and religion differences were problem in society country like Australia. Politicians are ignoring peoples’ concern and acting like Mr. nice guy. We can’t ignore local peoples’ civil right and human right.

If UN and Human Right Watch organization do not agree with my proposal and then they should host one or two refugees in their home and not as domestic servant. They will understand within two months.

"Hope UN will ask some countries thar have shortage on workers or declining birth to rescue these refugees"

Only if the countries are in Western Europe, North America (excluding Mexico), Australia or New Zealand. All other countries for all intents and purposes are exempted from this happy little arrangement.

Saudi Arabia, for example, is wealthy and empty, and has hardly any local workforce. Yet it resolutely refuses refugees, summarily deports the Somalians who do arrive, nor does the UN or anyone else put any pressure on it to accept any.

@Jeff: Are these countries you mentioned have low birth rate? Are they nagging shortage of workers?

"Are these countries you mentioned have low birth rate?"

Higher than Korea, Japan, China, etc. It should also be noted that Malaysia's birth rate is below the replacement level.

jeff: EU does not want. I think Japan should welcome instead of urging Japanese women to become pregnants,
