Yeah, and when the chaos quiets down a bit he'll do the exact same (said decree) thing or worse. He's just trying to save his skin.

At least the protest was successful.

ElBaradei should maintain a higher public profile in light of this and in the runup to the next election.

Morsi is backtracking... for now. However, anybody who thinks that this is the end of the islamist power grab is tragically naive. The Muslim Brotherhood`s goal is clear: Total Sharia, for Egypt, for the Middle East, and ultimately for the world. Always pushing, never giving up, taking whatever time is necessary.

The mistake of the West to help the Muslim Brotherhood take power in Egypt will come back to bite us big time.

The annulment, however, is not retroactive. Meaning, anything he did between the day of the decree and now, still stands. Including rushing the candidate for the constitution.

And the people of Egypt have made their goal clear.

I have faith in Allah/God and I have faith that common sense will prevail. So I am not an infidel.

I love it when a multi-ethnic, multi-religious country such as Egypt is able to battle to some middle ground like this and maybe show us the future. Good luck to the older Islamic countries and to Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the Arab spring countries.

No-one can tolerate extremism and frothing at the mouth for any great length of time.

Roll on rich maturity, contribution to the world community and real deep faith in the true value and mystical nature of life.
