"while smokers happily puffed on cigarettes"
Obviously Ramadan isn't long enough to break Muslim smokers of that nasty habit. They should make it longer.

Yes that's true , Muslims avoid doing nasty habits only for a one month period (The holy months of Ramadan when the month of the Holy Quran was reveild to Muhammad Sal.. ) But the rest of others ? , I mean the most none Muslims who practice naslty habits all 365 days in the year.
so better be a Muslim and stop your nasty habits for a period of one month.

And why are now constantly bombarded in the press about the latest news about what muslims are doing? We don´t get that sort of blanket cover for what e.g. Hindus or Buddhists are doing.
Next thing is, we will be reminded 5 times at day that now is time for muslim prayer?

WiiliB: I think you really have a problem against Muslims. Maybe you should start your own religious events calendar.

Check old media. Even a decade ago, we did not get this constant islamic indoctrination. Now, it is in our face constantly. Maybe you are so young you think it is normal.

It's really a big event as millions of people worldwide celebrate after fasting one month long. Similarly, Christmas also is in focal point of media not only on 25th December rather throughout the month of December because of its colorful arrangement. And many Shinto,Buddhist festivals also get media coverage with photos regularly on JT and other media. Why WilliB found such a single news so allergic ?

My wife and I went to a Persian restaurant for the lunch buffet yesterday. It was really nice to see all of the Muslim customers dressed in their finest clothes enjoying the feast that signals the end of the month of fasting.

I'm happy for the Muslims but really what WilliB said. Why is the latest in muslim culture now reported to us on a constant basis? Is it so that we can see how wonderful they all are? Or is it just to make sure that we have something of a thorn in our side to remind us they are here like an annual gay parade just to remind us that "they're here, they're queer, get used to it!!"? It's pathetic that it is muslim cultural events that get reported constantly and the other religions get ignored.

Mikehuntez.
It is reported because it is the latest topic(Thx Terry jones). End of Ramadan is usually reported every year as it affects a large population of this earth.
Just nothing to report when X-Mas, etc happens.

And how do you know they were all muslim? And what clothes do people usually wear in your "Persian restaurant"?

Just not in this part of the world it doesn't. But it is reported by JT to cause a 100+ thread. that's all.

Because Muslims are involved in virtually every conflict occurring in the world today. I've learned more about Islam than I ever cared to.

I don't think any of my Mohammedan friends and acquaintances in Japan observe Ramadan. In fact, as far as I can tell most of them seem happy to be far from the old country and all the 8th century superstition, tribalism, fear- and hate-mongering that characterizes the state religion.

MisterCreosote it's good to know that some Mohammedans do like the life of a normal person.
