The UN estimated that the death toll could be as high as 100,000 and more than 85,000 still missing; whereas the local NGOs' estimation is 120,000 dead and almost 100,000 missing. In any case, Myanmar government always misinformed the world for the last half a century, anyway.
The death toll could be much higher, but the government has no official figures of the actual population in delta prior to the cyclone Nargis. Even now the government officials are unable to reach some remote and isolated villages which can be accessed only by small shallow boats or by helicopters.
The Myanmar government's hinderance on relief efforts to save the victims is making the situation far worse. Almost two months after the cyclone, the Post Nargis Joint Accessment, PONJA made up of (UN+ASEAN+Myanmar) has issued a report today, that only 46% of the cyclone victims have received life-saving aid materials and healthcare from the international community so far. There are about 1.3 millions still awaiting desperately needed help.

Myanmar cyclone casualties and victims 84,357 from effect of Nargis cyclone.
About 54,000 missing, which can taken as also victim.
Total casualties for just staying in their homes without any wars of any kind is 139,000 myanmar people.
I think all sanctions must be removed in Myanmar by G8, to enable higher trade/prosperity.
