Pls don't make Japan feel more nervous :) NK's launch seems well planned and safe as such !

How funny would it be if the thing just explodes on the pad?

"How funny would it be if the thing just explodes on the pad?"

If it did and they suspected sabotage, not very funny. The repercussions could be serious.

I don’t often agree with Mr.Smith where NK is concerned but I do this time. If that thing goes bang on the launch pad NK will blame everybody but themselves &then life will get very interesting. Then again this launch however it goes is the start of some interesting times. NK is crossing a line this time & there is much less chance of them talking (blackmailing) their way out of this one. Could anybody here give an idea of how much this rocket/missile will have cost to fire? Money that wasn’t spent on feeding NKs hungry people.

Well done DPRK. After all the years of repression and forced starvation from the imperilaist Americans, you have proven you can protect yourself. The way DPRK has managed to develop these magnificant deterrents under constant threat of attack is a wonder.

Well done Korea, hope your launch is a success.

"hope your launch is a success"

Even if it careens into your neighborhood?

I have 10,000 yen that says this launch will not result in any satellite being put into orbit.

Heh, well - here's to hoping it explodes on the pad. The farmers farm with their hands, but the reclusive commuinist state seems only interested in nasty weapons.....

...what a shame their will be no forced regime change here.

my god man, your crusty anarcho punk membership card should be revoked. do you think the majority of people suffering in North Korea will benefit from this? It's not about DPRK 'rising up' against the oppressors. You are supporting a fascistic, inhumane regime in using their few resources to develop a weapons programme that will just bring them further trouble instead of addressing the severe poverty and brainwashing of the masses that has gotten them into such a mess. take a deep breath and ponder "what would Crass think?"

Former members of Crass support DPRK and similar regimes like Cuba. North Korea would be fine if it did not need to fund a massive military to fend off a US attack, which would haoppen as in Iraq, wheer it to let down its defences.

I watched a long Japanese news report on this and it was a joke -- the thing being fueled most with that kind of reporting is hysteria. It showed all sorts of diagrams of how if a piece of debris hit Japanese land people in an area of such and such meters after 30 minutes would suffer severe damage from the toxins released (from the fuel), etc. And the whole time they said 'missile' over and over, not even once suggesting it might well be satellite.

This is all just more excuses here to get more money for funding defense and military.

How serious? Will they declare War? Will they claim we are about to "Invade" them? So what, they already do. There is NOTHING serious about NKorea (except the population who is starving). We can wipe them out in a flash. And so can China is they thought we would.
