wow... this guy is a complete idiot. I hope Clinton DOESN'T go there to plead for his release. I guess he can now write about those prison camps from an insiders point of view.

Gee. Didn't see this coming. Seriously, what an absolute moron.

Bill Clinton went to the rescue of a couple of hot Asian chicks. I think that Mr. Park is not gonna raise an eyebrow in the media anywhere.

Mr. Park may not be a complete idiot rather mentally unstable. Hope NK will release him on humanitarian grounds unlike China who is likely to execute British man having mental disorders.

is there any living human that doesn't already know about NK's human rights record ?

I doubt Bill is firing up the jet for this one. See ya in 3 years, Mr. Park. I don`t think NK has the term "humanitarian" in their dictionary...

    Dick,

"This guy may have problems,as N Korea know Obama will be too chicken to get involved."

Besides your usual grammatical/typing errors, likely the result of the rabid lather you work up anytime you see a chance to blame the world's ills on President Obama, you've got a factual error in your statement as well. Obama is too busy to get involved in this silliness. After all, we all know how well your hero, Bush, helped matters with his "tough" approach. (What's that? The DPRK exploded a few nukes club on Bush's watch?! You don't say...)

LFRAgain; I am an independent and i base my judgements in a fair and balanced manner. Obama has shown that this type of problem is too tough for him to handle. Last time it was disgraced Bill Clinton who did the job and fawning to N Korea for him.

This time, this nutjob who must be mentally ill will suffer at the hande of the N Koreans.

This rogue state must be stopped. Regime change is an urgent matter to be considered.

USAFdude; You try to mock true patriots who want North Korea to be a stable nation. North Korea has no right to detain a US citizen and should be ready for regime change if they do not comply.

Obama appeases the bad guys and i expect this guy to suffer due to Obama`s lack of strength.

    ca1ic0cat

I agree this guy is going to suffer but he really set himself up for it. I would hope that Obama doesn't use up any political capital trying to bail this guy out. He'll get what he deserves. There are more important things to consider. Besides, if lil Kim realizes that Obama will play hardball maybe things will change a bit.

If someone illegally enters a country, they have every right to detain you.

Absolutely correct, Good Jorb. It's what may happen next that concerns many folks. Will the punishment fit the crime... ? -Annd it is a crime.

Park is an off the wall religious nutjob, why should anybody make any effort to try and get him out? He went in there by his own insane choice so this has nothing to do with Obama or anybody else. I agree that Obama the messiah is a waste of space, but at least attack him for something that he is or can be responsible for otherwise you invalid anything of worth you have to say.

    Dick,

Stop being an ass. "Regime change" isn't such an easy option when your opponent has nuclear weapons, no to mention the ability to wipe out Seoul with conventional artillery in but one day. Or did you conveniently forget that part?

Threatening North Korea with military action because it has detained an American religious zealot who advertised widely that he was going to try to illegally "sneak" into the country is not only asinine, but it's militarily and politically unviable. Japan certainly doesn't want to go to war with North Korea for the actions of this dumba$$ Robert Park, and South Korea most certainly isn't going to put its civilian population in harm's way for Mr. "I'm An Asshat" Park. So the military option is most effectively off the table.

Tell you what: Since you're all brass tacks and "can o' whoopass," why don't you mount up, cowboy, and go riding into Pyongyang to Mr. Park's rescue?

Oddly, you seem to think you have more and foreign policy know-how than our current sitting president, despite the fact that, well, he's our Commander in Chief, and, well, you're . . . umm . . . not.

Plus, they were journalists. For Al Gore, no less. If anything like this happens to a journalist, it always makes more news than when it happens to anyone else.

Bill Clinton went to the rescue of a couple of hot Asian chicks.

The definition of hot, in this case, would seem very personal. They were not ugly, of course.

"If anything like this happens to a journalist, it always makes more news than when it happens to anyone else."

That's not an entirely accurate statement. If anything like this happens to U.S. or Coalition soldiers, Western backpackers, or journalists, it usually makes the news.
