N. Korea is going to do no such thing. President Obama will never allow it.

"In a defiant statement, North Korea’s Foreign Ministry also acknowledged for the first time that the country has a uranium enrichment program..."
Well, not exactly. In April, they said they would do this. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/30/world/asia/30korea.html
Sarge, you might be right. This could get messy, and Japan isn't far away. I really didn't think N. Korea would go this far. Threaten yes, but now it may have gone beyond that. I wonder if Kim is still really in control...

Yet another definition of "an act of war" by NK....
Pretty soon, farting towards the general direction of Pyongyang will also be an act of war.

Let them strike first, sad for the victims, but China has been sitting on their butts for so long, they've apparantly been waiting for this moment or else they would have solved this problem decades ago. NK needs to do the last straw so SK and the other nations can finally re-unite again.

Send the 'Kawaii ambassadors' to promote Japanese pop culture in NK.

Let
s face the facts. There are some countries that hate Western policy, particularly U.S policy. Consequently, those countries arent going down without a fight and dont want to be pushed around. Whos right or wrong doesnt matter. Its all about the built up hate and anger. Basically N. Korea and its anti-west buddies feel they are being bullied and well...they don`t like that. I think the wheelng and dealing is just about over.0

With a leader who is strong and wise like BUsh or McCain, North Korea would now be bombed into the stone age. Nukes are appropriate in this situation.

Well said, North Korea's defiance was admirable and americans should get out of the Korean peninsula, Korea belongs to all Koreans and period! What if the British empire supporting those confederate states against Lincoln in america's civil war? Was that acceptable or it was an insult?America was bullying the Korean people just like the Japanese done, they wont last very long, their hegamony was hollow, they are living on debts and they own power anymore,it was China owned them!

North Korea has harbored deep-rooted suspicions that the U.S. could invade to topple its regime.
North Korea's over estimations of america's military power!

By claiming that the US is about to invade, ole sock puppet Kim keeps the people in fear and he stays in power......Almost like claiming that if we elect anyone but a Republican we will get hit.....Hm I wonder if Karl is advising ole Kimmy?

I keep wondering why the Chinese do not get their sock puppet under control...But China needs their sock puppet making the world worry. For some silly reason China believes that this makes the United States look bad...
But the really funny thing here is that China is the one that looks real bad and weak. It appears that they can not control or are scared of Kim....Hmmm weakness shines by their actions.....

North korea should make more nuclear power plants instead of nukes.
That will make better use of uranium fuel energy in North korea, save it a lot of money and wastage of nuclear fuel energy.
USA must get rid of suspicions in north korea, via engagements and via non-aggression peace treaty deals.
There is need to end, invasion fears of north korea by USA/South korea via more 6 party or 1 party engagements.

OK - President Obama promised that he would change the world with his non-Bush foreign policy. He should probably get started with his new respectful foreign policy that the world seems to think will change everything. Obama just needs to sit down face-to-face with Kim Jong Ill and apologize for every slight - real or imagined - and that should calm down the situation. The North Koreans always respond well to these kinds of inducements.
