The fact that Russia maintains 'cordial' relations with this megalomaniac pariah is a disgrace. But when your country is run by neo-mafia oligarchs, worrying about one's national reputation is probably not that important. Does 'cordial' include a few train cars of sanction violating Becherovka and Praskoveysky for the ride home?

Sanction? I don't think the Russians are very familiar with that word...

Reputation? Nonsense. No one of the new-old Great Game players cares why Russia should?

I wonder what they brought into Russia to sell to finance the trip?

  • 0

    shinhiyata

They probably sold the Russians a tanker of 3-methyl-fentanyl to finance this trip. It's widely rumoured that the DPRK supplied the KGB and the post-Soviet Spetsnaz security force with the stocks needed to make the KOLOKOL gas used in the Nord-Ost theater terror attack disaster. The DPRK uses fentanyls and other similar substances to brainwash and control their political prisoners and subjugated operatives. The DPRK is one of the world's largest drug trafficking organizations and could well be Kim's largest source of income.

Please, don't be worry about our reputation. Please, more be worry about your reputation. For example, in NK don't exists military bases of US and China too. Your must be very grateful to NK for that, but not assert a claim to NK and Russia.

...support for his dynastic transfer of power to his third son, Kim Jong Un.

That's most likely the main reason; he visited China recently for the same purpose. Nonetheless, the NK hulk is dead in the water and sinking. As Western sanctions have taken their toll, Kim is increasingly dependent on Beijing and Moscow even for basic necessities like corn, but these countries have no interest in maintaining any dynasty; they just desire a NK strong enough not to collapse but weak enough to allow it to be raped for resources. When the "Young Captain's" dad passes on, I'd look for a rapid coup d'etat.

I won't be so sure. The top won't let it happen. Jung-un will be a mere puppet.

I've read that Russia is strongly pushing for a natural gas pipeline through NK to SK. Further aid from Russia seems heavily dependent on this - and that aid could be substantial. The question is whether a scion of the Kim Dynasty can accept such humiliation - and, if rejecting it, whether its rule can survive subsequent withdrawal of aid. Or, to put it differently, whether the bone of such aid draws bigger dogs than the "Young Captain" into the fight.

At any rate, it will be entertaining to watch.

The UN sanction is still in place against NK. As long as NK keeps a NUKE, there will be no more food shipment from other countries except Russia and China. Simple is that.

So one of the only dictators in the world to be able to kick Americas arse on a regular basis, is actually a pansy who is afraid of flying?

Asagao, I do not see the North as a military threat to either the South or USA. As long as Russia and China stay out he will lose.

NK is not have any resources for attack some countries. But China use NK as low cost manpower. Also some people form NK have work in Russia for building. For example, company from US make an order to Chin's company, but China's company produce in Vietnam or NK.

YOU are really out of facts. USA is not helping NK.

For example, some day ago Obama gave to NK 900 000$ 'buy food'.

NK not have economic relationships because they can't buy food. NK can't growing own food because this territory is mounting.

NK is not have resources to attack some countries< ??? North Korea has the fourth-largest army in the world, at an estimated 1.21 million armed personnel, with about 20% of men aged 17 to 54 in the regular armed forces. North Korea has the highest percentage of military personnel per capita of any nation in the world, with approximately one enlisted soldier for every 25 citizens. North Korea has active nuclear and ballistic missile weapons programs and has been subject to United Nations Security Council resolutions 1695 of July 2006, 1718 of October 2006, and 1874 of June 2009, for carrying out both missile and nuclear tests. North Korea probably has fissile material for up to nine nuclear weapons, and has the capability to deploy nuclear warheads on intermediate-range ballistic missiles. The DPRK presumably has the largest stockpile of offensive poison gas and biological warfare agents on the planet. It is estimated that NK has enough VX, tabun, and sarin nerve gas to kill everyone in both South Korea and Japan. There is also mounting evidence that NK has been working to revive and weaponize the smallpox and Spanish influenza viruses. And it's all controlled by a power-mad freak with a Napoleon complex and delusional paranoia. But Kim doesn't have enough food to feed 2.1 million people in his country who are currently starving to death? Not very comforting facts considering I currently live only a few hundred miles away from the most frightening place on Earth.

If the West was able to find and ship off Mr. bin Laden, surely in time they can locate this foul, utterly terrifying creature as well?

I'm regret about your family. Also I hope that you will find your fortune. I can say more but for MT of JT is offtopic.

Not one army in the world can't attack without oil and food. Also weapons of NK is very old. But people of NK don't drink vodka, drags and porno too. Also they have strong moral. That is advantage NK army. You have many information about NK from internet, TV and other sources, but never visit of NK. You can visit of NK for holiday on clean nature. I sure that you can't find in NK big love from korean people but also i sure I can't find mad aggressors to you. I sure that after visit of NK you will have less bad emotions about NK.
