This is very sad. Even the most evil man has a wife, children and grandchildren who loved him. And who knows how much he changed in the last 70 years.
He is dead. He's dead. Let him go. Let his living family bury him in peace and then everybody can move on.
Its only the living who declare him a hero despite all evidence that deserve criticism, but that can wait until after the funeral.

He apparently didn't, and therein lies the problem! He was unrepentant, claimed he was only following orders and then denied it even happened. Sorry, but it's a bit difficult to sympathize with his plight. It was disturbing to watch the vermin who came out to eulogize him.
Madverts
They should have dumped him in the street like the Nazi's did with their victims.
A disgrace this man lived out his days comfortable dining out with friends as part of his sentence, flouting the same old coot law as Berlusconi has to avoid paying for his crimes.

@GalapagosnoGairaishu--You are right about that, I have to admit.
He has no plight. He is quite dead. I don't see myself changing my mind about that one.

Kind of a big point.

And Father, you condemn yourself out of your own mouth.

I hate Italian Nazis.

What the hell?! The man is dead. Let him be buried. It's not like they were going to erect a monument over his grave or anything.
Here in the U.S. we had a similar incident with the Boston bomber who was killed. Nobody wanted to let his body be buried in their town. He was finally laid to rest in Doswell, VA after a local Christian woman appealed to a Richmond Islamic group. After the burial the local authorities were upset that they weren't consulted and now people fear that there's going to be problems at the cemetery. Sheesh! Again, it's not like they're going to erect a monument over his grave. He'll be lucky to get a small nameplate on his burial mound. Let it go, people!
