Fine with me. We just got OUT of Iraq. I don't want us going back in.

If Iraq can get their S*** under control, I'm ok with it, but the harsh reality is, the Free Syrian Army and the Iraqi army will NOT be able or have the capability to stop them.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Actually it would be good for US ground troops to stay out and Iraq will have to get it's "soldiers" to stop running away from an actual fight and learn how to take them out and be courageous. Cowardice and internal strife is what got them into this situation.

So, he essentially said it's important to assist Assad fight the IS in Syria. Sounds like that goes squarely against Obama's "Oust Assad" strategy. And cooperate with Iran. He may be right.

Would Chinese troops on the ground be OK? The Iraqi government is going to need some outside military help on the ground...

0 ( +0 / -0 )

@Serrano Would LOVE to see that. But that would require China to be responsible...

I say swallow your pride Mr. Obama and side with the lesser of two evils in Syria. This ISIS silliness has got to go..

Iraq Gov will 100% have know say. America & Australia will go into Iraq and Syria, to stop this massive new terrorist threat, that has already seen terrorist lock up in Australia, for planing beheading in the CBD.

How funny that the Iraq "I mean" Iran, Iraq government thinks, we will not stop them.

Too much emphasis is put on ISIL's destruction and their presence in Syria. Bottled up in Syria, the ISIL cannot do much harm. Help the Iraqi's drive them out of their country, seal the border, and watch them all start killing each other.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

@Laguna your joking right? They have beheaded and murder, mass people in all city's villages, they have taken over. They didn't take over 1 area in Iraq champ, but a massive part of Iraq.

SECOND. We need America forces to go in, to save civilian lives. America has the world's best trained troops, and pinpoint weapons, that can take them out easier and with less damage. If the Iraq troops go in, they will have to blow up mass houses will just sell the shi* out of every city and villages making massive civilian casualties. We don't need second class troops going in doing that, or spraying bullets around kids. We need the words "best army" taking them out with much better accuracy.

You seem to miss understanding the problem. 800 ISIL fighter invaded Iraq, and 30,000 Iraqi troops fled from them. IS didn't have a bomb or bullet proof tank and cars at the start, and the Iraq troops did. Even when the Iraq troops pulled back to a point and regrouped, they couldn't take them on with an advantage in number, weapons, bulletproof tanKs and cars, and bomb proof weapons. I think they even pulled back again.

^ I PUT THAT IN THE CATEGORY OF A BATTLE FROM WW2, WHEN THE GERMANY ARMY ROLLED IN WITH TANKS, TO SEE POLISH TROOPS ON HORSES WITH SPEARS AND GUNS "THAT COULDN'T DO ANYTHING" CHARGING AT THEM. INSTEAD IS IRAQ TROOPS IN TANKS FLEEING.

America trained them from 2004 to almost 2010 and the failed failed every time, they had to clear a area of more then 100 people.

Sorry, Scott, but it appears that you do not understand the situation. America is done with humanitarian gestures in that region unless they are particularly egregious, and I am afraid that a beheading here or there don't meet that hallmark.

This, despite Bush's face-palming stupidity, is really no longer America's problem (and you can thank Obama for that emphatic end punctuation when he acquiesced to the demand that American forces be withdrawn from Iraq), an, subsequently, neighboring problems are also only of American concern to the extent that America is threatened.

Which it is not, at least comparatively. Americans do not want to go there. Obama does not want to go there. The people of Syria are on their own, for better or worse.

@Laguna Why was it Obama fault? It was Iraq that said they had to sign the deal, that would try there troops under corrupt Iraqi law. Obama made it clear.....See the % of Iraqi troop deaths dropping every 3 months non stop? That's from America run Iraq Intel, and that's why we get 0 deaths. The Strategy's worked and crush them, allowing Intel to be set up. We go Intel goes simple Iraq.

@Laguna 100% American troops will be there, and on the ground fighting them. Obama will be seen in the future, as a disaster if there troops don't go in. Obama has shown us how slow he is and how weak he is. U.S troops don't move in, they will attack in the west before his time ois up, and its on him. If it happens.............. its on his shoulders.

Iraq is no longer a State or country. They are a defeated and isolated region of the world. The Government is a rag tagged assembly of "want to be clowns". Lets just face reality, and tell it as it is ! Corruption, childish management of their affairs, coupled with ego infested stupidity, got their just reward ! They are extremely lucky, that Obama is a soft headed emotion libel American President. With that in mind, their future is still in limbo. Those Army boys still have to fight and perform on the ground.. I wonder if the courage and persistence for victory is truly in their souls ! The Isis group are certainly little A-holes with a warped mind set. However these Yoyo's are serious and understand commitment, which gives them the staying power to maintain the evil empire. The Whole community is running scared with no plan.... And That's just the Way it Is !

Behind the rise of IS in Iraq lies a smouldering civil war in Iraq, where the Sunni minority became in danger of being exterminated by death squads of Shiite militias dressed in official Iraqi govt uniforms. (Of course there were plenty of killings going both ways). Alien IS became accepted in Sunni Iraq as a means for Sunni Iraq survival. As long as Sunni Iraq has no other way to guarantee their safety, IS will continue to have a home in Sunni Iraq.

There is only one thing that can save them, and that's a new constitution. Any time a government tries to takeover and there is a massive walk out, from the other "two" party's. The ruling power has 1 -3 months to come to an agreement, or the constitution states the power shifts to 1 of the other 2 opposition party's for 2 months each........Then back to the original elected ruling party. If not fixed in 4 months or so on.....it happens again. This way they can never take over. If 2 party's see a massive change in government "why that 2 month shit of power accords", then they can vote to shift power again, stopping the stepped in ruling party, from holding power "shifting it" for 2 months again.

^ That means no 1 party can hold power unless they do the right things, and the other party can't take over if they decide to deliberately walk out "knowing" the constitution states, power is handed over for 1 - 3 months. It's not permanent, but will rotate the ruling party "unto" an agreement is put in place. If they make a system like that, and not letting the Gov have power to shut down Iraqi FBI agency's, takeovers or a disaster like this, will never happen again.

A freeze on the Constitution for 30+ years is a 100% must. This way for 30+ years they will see party's come and go, and the people will have the power by then. The constitution must, have 2 terms in power at most, so know thugs like Nouri al-Maliki, can cling to power and rule government.

I would even go 1 step more........ The U.N is running three polling stations for 30 years 2. This will stop them rigging it, but really, that's already countered "by" 2 party's agreeing on a power shit, that will give each party the power to rule Gov for 1 -3 months each, before it goes back to the winning party. If they agree is can swing back to the other party's again. If the temporary Gov is corrupt, the other 2 party's can then even vote to have them step down from power with a shift again. This stops any takeover or party ruling the government or army. That in its self we see them trying to make each other happy with good deals, to be in power.

Clearly from the start, then new constitution will "state" all top Gens are forced to be rotated from Shiite 2 Sunni 2 Kurd's yearly "no matter what". There are more things that can be added, to 100% force democracy on them....what ever stops this from happening again.|

If the Iraq, FBI can prove "to the other 2 party'"so that a member of the other party is corrupt, they can vote to kick him out of government. So a court a be shown the evidence, then the other 2 party's can also be shown the evidence and must be. If the court says no, the other 2 party's have the power to vote the corrupt person in government out of gov.

There are full proof steps we can take, to insure the 2,000 + troops that died, didn't die for anything. They won the battle and would of winning the war, but a corrupt Iraq Shiite government, wanted to cling to power forcing America to leave Iraq. This stops any takeovers and will see democracy. Ps the head of the Iraq, FBI must be rotated yearly 2. Has to be a different type each year... Shiite, Sunni, Kurd.

A full proof democracy that will "at least" see know takeover from the 1 party. The Iraq, FBI will be busting every corrupt Person in government, and having them charged. Last step a vote in government once the evidence it put forward to a court, but dropped or found not guilty.

They must also make it law that the people hi up in the police department, must be rotated 2. That stops the small corruption in the future. Its a get it 100% correct constitution now.

If a war with Syria takes place and the gov is done, This must be part of there new constitution. Well they fix the loopholes and work out stuff like this.....2 add.

“Not only is it not necessary,” he said, “we don’t want them. We won’t allow them. Full stop.”

Yeah I like his clear and loud answer and it's fine with me. US and NATO never should go back to Iraq even if ISIS has oust Iraqi Government. Muslims don't want foreigners on their soil. Let soldiers from its neighbor Muslim Arab countries to fight ISIS on the ground.

Let USA stop the air strikes, too.

@Kobuta Chan Most Iraqis didn't what America to leave?

Its simple as this. We go in or we don't win and terrorist spread around the world, 10 fold to Al Q. Obama's strategy will not work. It won't work and mass civilians will be killed. We don't need rebels firing random motor and cannon rounds at villages and city's where the IS and women and children are. We don't need the rebels going house to house blowing every house up and shooting/spraying bullets everywhere 2. We need the worlds best army to move in. A army that wouldn't just site back "shelling the civilians" hard for a week "before" they even get ready to enter the area. We need the worlds best army that can drop bombs on 100% of there targets with pinpoint accessory, an 2 shoot people with good aiming skills and precision. We need to save kids lives and need America troops to do the job.

Rebel use cannon rounds that hit civilian houses. If the rebels go in, its murder and all houses will be destroyed, along with the civilians.

Once again.....

Once we beat them we need to Force Iraq to change there Constitution "with force" and over run Syria gov, and make a new government with a new constitution like this.

There is only one thing that can save them, and that's a new constitution. Any time a government tries to takeover and there is a massive walkout from the other "two party's" the ruling power has 1 - 2 months to come to an agreement,. So the constitution states the power shifts to 1 of the other 2 opposition party's for 2 months each, then back to the original elected ruling party......If they still have not fixed in problem within the first 1 month......it happens again. This way they can never take over.

If 2 party's see a massive change in government "why that 2 month shift of power takes place", then the other 2 party's can vote to shift power again, stopping the stepped in ruling party, from holding power "shifting it" for 2 months again to the next party or back to the wining party of the election.

^ That means no 1 party can hold power "unless" they do the right thing, and the other party can't take over if they decide to deliberately walk out "knowing" the constitution states, power is handed over for 1 month.

The constitution must, have 2 terms in power at most, so know thugs like Nouri al-Maliki, can cling to power and rule government by blackmailing or paying off 1 judge to change the 2 term at most rule.....like he did.

This stops any takeover or party ruling the government or army. That in its self we see them trying to make each other happy with good deals, to be in power. All police army number must be =. Cannot make 90% Shiite top army....must be a split, and =.

Clearly from the start, the new constitution will "state" all top army Gens are forced to be rotated from Shiite 2 Sunni 2 Kurd's yearly "no matter what". There are more things that can be added, to 100% force democracy on them....what ever stops this from happening again "corruption".

If the court says no and does not charge him or her, the other 2 party's have the power to vote the corrupt person out of government.

There are full proof steps we can take, to insure the 5,000 + troops that died, didn't die for anything. They won the battle and would of won the war, but a corrupt Iraq Shiite government, wanted to cling to power forcing America to leave Iraq "to take over"like they 100% did. This stops any takeovers and will see democracy. Ps the head of the Iraq, FBI must be rotated yearly 2. Has to be a different type each year... Shiite, Sunni, Kurd.

Last step a vote in government once the evidence it put forward to a court, but dropped or found not guilty. That stops blackmail and corruption to rig. Yet the court can find them guilty first.

They must also make it law that the people hi up in the police department, must be rotated 2. That stops the small corruption in the future. Its a get it 100% correct constitution now.

If a war with Syria takes place and the gov is over run, this must be part of there new constitution as and before the new government is put in place. Well they fix the loopholes and work out stuff like this.....2 add.
