I didn't follow Pinter's politics very much, though I agree with much of what he says. BUT, Pinter was a genius playwright and did indeed change the stage to an extent. The Birthday Party and The Homecoming in particular were genius. Anyway, he will be missed.

"Death of Hate-filled Leftist" was his finest.

I became a lifelong fan of Pinter back in the late 80's, in all honesty hadn't followed his political leanings in recent years but now wish I had. RIP.

Pinter’s influence was felt in the United States in the plays of Sam Shepard and David Mamet.

    2 amazing talents

adamantine: Well, it's no surprise that we have pinter here as the subject, and you as a poster. He was an inspiration to all sorts of celebrities, movie-makers, playwrights, dramatists in general, and politicians, etc. Mamet, Shepard, and Tom Stoppard (brilliant playwright, and also writer/director of Shakespeare in Love -- for which he won at least one Academy Award -- Billy Bathgate, Enigma, etc.).

That you hate him simply shows that you hate anyone who's politics do not agree with your own. Sad.
