Why does the U.S. have this stupid beef with Cuba anyway?

there are many things about this that I can back, however, far too many people don't understand that 1/3 of all money, medicine, and usable items can and are collected by the communist party of Cuba. Castro's a pretty chill guy" Well, if you had control of that much money, you too would be chill. So, I guess you don't like the idea of: free elections freedom of speech freedom to choose your own job and like: having family members be fined for crimes, and that includes social crimes against the state like "smuggling in magazines and newspapers". the idea that hundreds, was once thousands, of political prisoners

Yeah, you know a log about Cuba. I'd love for you come to Miami or New Jersey and shout that out.

The anti-establishment crowd is gaining power.

the path of previous politicians on Cuba policy—“they come down to Miami, they talk tough, they go back to Washington, and nothing changes in Cuba.”

Cuban expats in Florida are going to be real peeved that the inaction won't be matching the lip service anymore. Obama better practice ducking until he is real fast at it.

I'm surprised that the anti-castro/anti-cuba folks aren't pounding their keyboards on this article. For the past few years anytimes this was brought up, they came out of the woodworks. Just surprising that people are not screaming, "Communist regime."

Maybe our national debt that is owed to Communist China has tempered that language. < :-)

Altria: "Castro's a pretty chill guy"

Not chill enough, apparently, to call for free elections.

Just surprising that people are not screaming, "Communist regime."" Because if you knew anything, you would know that Cuba is not really communist; in fact Castro never set out on a communist quest to begin with... he uses that to control the people. No, this is a dictatorship. You can not deny that, nor should you really have the moral right to do so.. like really, what do you get out of this deal?

It's an encouraging step. But it's still too early to tell whether it's indicative of real move toward a smarter Cuba policy aimed at nudging the island nation along on the path to democracy.

Oh, and it's further, not farther, Ms Muñoz.
