Where have I seen this before? Stimulus along with pay cuts and downsizing? Oh yeah!! The DPJ.

The DPJ invented this "one foot on the gas one foot on the brake" style of governance. Let's see if Washington can perfect it.

I really like Mr.President Obama, even if these pay freeze on the 2 million parasites working for the US federal government does not really make a dent, it is kind of the nice gesture, you know, the thought that counts kind of deal, we are suffering with the common Joe in middle America kind of feelings. A step in the right direction.

“Small businesses and families are tightening their belts,” Obama said in brief remarks at the White House. “The government should, too.” The administration said the plan was designed to save more than $5 billion over the first two years.

Five billion dollars!!! Oh my. The usual PR stunt to send the masses off the scent. There is a giant elephant in the room, and he does NOT work for the government of the USA.

I'm with Klein2. The stupidity and/or corruption and criminality being exhibited are indeed destroying us. The leader of the free world is busy planning to save $5 billion, while at the same time the estimates of the true cost of the financial bailout are $12 trillion. That is just for the USA, and there is much more to come.

Keep your head in the sand, and all the bad things will go away! Timmy Geithner says everything is now ok!

freeze? they need a pay cut... I meet guys at the Sanno telling me what they get paid and think that job in the real world would be about 1/4 of that. Cut their pay, cut the seats, and freeze it right there and put many of those jobs back into the military hands.
